This was my wife and I's first visit and it won't be the last. There is definitely zero cellular coverage and wifi speed is dependent on who else is using it. Seclusion and being disconnected is EXACTLY what we both needed! We have two small children so we were able to keep in touch with them via text message. Plus the owners were kind to provide a direct phone number for the Inn in the event of an emergency. The "driveway" can be quite difficult to ascend without an SUV. A Tesla did make it up the hill so it depends on your level of comfort! There is a battery charger for those electric drivers. The Seneca Rock room is amazing and the view is spectacular! The complimentary breakfast is delicious and homemade. In fact, all meals at the Inn are homemade by Ed, Carol, and Davis. We had a gourmet style dinner ( soup/app/entree/dessert ) and a causal dinner( minus the app ). Both were delicious and tasted better than we first imagined. The picnic basket lunch is MORE than enough for two people. The sandwiches are homemade as well. There is a TV in the game room which forced ourselves to disconnect in our room. Download a music playlist for those you spend on using the hot tub in some of the rooms. Too may people may be using wifi at the time. Overall the stay was much better than imagined and everything listed on the Inn's website is true to form. Our only complaint is the wifi speed in the event of an emergency. We are planning a return trip for...
Read moreWhen my girlfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway from DC, we happened upon the North Fork Mountain Inn, and we can't stop raving about it! The hosts are extremely accommodating and knowledgeable, the view is incredible, and the amenities (pool table, hot tub, etc.) are the perfect extra touch. The whole property had a fantastic rustic-chic feel to it, and the rooms are just what you'd want for a weekend in the mountains.
We got lucky and there was a guest chef staying at the inn when we were there. His cooking was fantastic, but I'm sure the regular meals are great, too!
The day we arrived, we spent more than an hour just sitting on the front deck and watching dozens of hummingbirds buzz around the bird feeders as we took in the mountain view around us. Later that night we sipped wine as we sat in the hot tub and gazed at the hundreds of stars overhead. Who could ask for anything more???
There are several great hiking trails in the vicinity - thankfully the owners directed us to a shorter one, as we had a pretty tight schedule for our final day. But the view from that trail was incredible, too. We only wished we could have stayed longer to take advantage of some of the other nearby activities, like fly fishing and horseback riding.
Can't speak highly enough about this lodge - if you're looking for somewhere to disconnect in nature while still having a comfortable stay, this is the...
Read moreWe stayed here over the past weekend. Hosts were amazing and very personable. They made sure we had everything we needed and that we were nice and comfy. Made us feel at home. Our room was beautiful. Had everything we needed. The inn was fun to stay at. With a pool table and board games on the first floor we had plenty of stuff to keep us busy for the time we were there. (Loved the Bob Ross game. Was really fun.) We didn't realize there was a hot tub, so we'll def be bringing swimsuits next time. We opted out of the dinner they had on site (we wanted to try a few other local places), but the breakfast we had the next morning was amazing. Nice fluffy waffle and fresh fruit with scrambled eggs and bacon is what I had. Made me wish we would have tried the dinner. The only complaint we really had was that the WiFi was a little spotty due to the weather, but we learned real quick it just wasn't this inn. We had trouble getting service and internet just about anywhere we went in the area. And again definitely not the inns fault. Just the area. More of a heads up if you absolutely have to have it, you're going to have trouble just about anywhere you go. And getting away was the point, so we weren't too bothered by it. We def can't wait to come back and we def plan on trying out one of the cabins here...
