Spinneys Guest House & Beach Cottages — Hotel in Phippsburg

My husband and I have been visiting Phippsburg/Bath area for over 30 years. We’ve camped, stayed in cabins and rented an Air BnB. Last year we stayed at Spinneys in one of the cabins on Sea St. That’s when we fell in love with the beaches that go from the Civil War fort to the state park approximately 4 miles round trip. This is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the northeast. This year we stayed in the Seaside cabin for the week which is located on the beach and includes breathtaking views of the ocean. We visited the on site restaurant several times and were not disappointed. The food was prepared nicely and delicious. The lobsters come fresh out of the Maine waters and the potato salad is different and delicious. The staff very friendly, professional and attentive. What a nice place, and a beautiful spot. Stayed in the Admiral Suite w/ big windows to see the sunrise. Literally steps to the beach, and restaurant; very quiet, and peaceful.|The room is large; bedroom w/ king size bed, living room with TV, and dining area w/ full kitchen that leads out to a deck. |We enjoyed the restaurant; ate there twice....$100 on one trip that included drinks, two entrées, and dessert......good service, and the food arrived fast.|I would recommend packing a cooler for essentials....the closest market is 15 minutes away w/ limited selections....the closest supermarket is in Bath.|The place also has cottages that run perpendicular to the beach....looks like No. 1 has the best beach view. |Would stay here again due to close proximity to the beach, and the solitude.....we also booked "last minute", and got a reduced rate which I thought was...

First I'd like to take a moment to say I don't want to write a great review. Being a little selfish in regards to I'd like to come back at a reasonable Rate. Their website is deceiving And definitely needs updating. Under new ownership this place is a gem. I was lucky enough to get a cabin for a couple of days. Although there is no Ac the cabin is super cute. Direct access to the beach. Beautiful location. All mattresses are new and the new owners are working on updates. This is a gem in disguise. A quick drive past the popham state park with Fort popham to entertain the kids. I love this place. Thank you for an excellent location and a wonderful vacation. 😊 *Updated we did leave early due to no ac or fans. It was very hard to sleep at night with no air movement. Does need updated towels...
