Tucked away on a serene ridge in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, Berry Springs Lodge in Sevierville, Tennessee, offers a bed-and-breakfast experience that feels like a warm embrace. From the moment I arrived, the lodgeâs rustic charm and breathtaking views set the tone for a stay that was equal parts relaxing and invigorating. If youâre looking for a place to unwind while still being a stoneâs throw from the regionâs attractions, Berry Springs delivers in spades.
The hosts at Berry Springs are the heart of the operation. Their kindness and attentiveness made me feel like a guest in their home rather than a customer. They went out of their way to ensure every detail was perfect, from offering thoughtful recommendations for local hotspots to accommodating small requests with genuine smiles. Whether it was a tip about a hidden hiking trail or a suggestion for a cozy dinner spot in nearby Gatlinburg, their local expertise elevated the experience.
The complimentary breakfast was a daily highlight. Each morning brought a spread of fresh, hearty dishes that showcased Southern hospitality at its finest. Think fluffy pancakes, savory quiches, and crispy bacon, all paired with steaming coffee and seasonal fruit. The food wasnât just deliciousâit was a moment to connect with other guests in the dining room, where conversations flowed easily. Speaking of guests, everyone I met was respectful and friendly, creating a communal vibe that felt like a reunion of old friends. That sense of community was a rare and welcome surprise, making Berry Springs feel like more than just a place to sleep.
Throughout the day, the lodge kept the treats coming with complimentary dessertsâa delightful touch. From warm cookies to decadent cakes, these sweet offerings were perfect for savoring on the deck while soaking in the mountain views. But the real cherry on top? The gas fireplace in my room. After a day of exploring, curling up by its glow was pure bliss. The room itself was spotless, thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed, from plush towels to extra blankets, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
Berry Springs sits on 33 acres of natural beauty, and the property is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. I took advantage of the on-site hiking trails, which wound through peaceful woods and offered glimpses of the Smokiesâ iconic vistas. For those who prefer water over land, the lodgeâs stocked ponds are a haven for catch-and-release bass fishing, with complimentary gear provided. I also spotted guests enjoying a lively game of basketball at the pavilion and others gliding across the pond in canoesâfree for guests to use. Whether youâre an adventurer or just want to kick back, thereâs something here for everyone.
Location-wise, Berry Springs strikes a perfect balance. Itâs secluded enough to feel like a true escape, yet just a short drive from the buzz of Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After a day of roller coasters or exploring the parkâs trails, returning to the lodgeâs tranquility felt like coming home.
The staffâs dedication to making every guest feel valued was evident in every interaction. Their recommendations for local restaurants and attractions were spot-on, and they seemed to take pride in helping me craft a memorable itinerary. That personal touch, combined with the lodgeâs cozy amenities and vibrant community atmosphere, made my stay unforgettable.
Hands down, I wouldnât dream of staying anywhere else in eastern Tennessee. Berry Springs Lodge isnât just a bed and breakfastâitâs a destination that captures the soul of the Smokies. Whether youâre drawn by the promise of outdoor adventures, the lure of Dollywoodâs bright lights, or simply the chance to relax by a crackling fire, this lodge delivers an experience thatâs as warm as it is unforgettable. Book your stay, and prepare to fall in love with the mountains...

It's definitely a relic of the 2000s and even 90s but super well kept and we enjoyed the nostalgia. I would not call it luxury, but they're just a few steps away: new bedding, glass shower curtain, slippers would all be essential to spruce up the place to that "lux" zone. The lodge is so cute though and in a dope location to get away from the tackiness of pigeon forge but have access to all the silliness there. We hiked the AT for a night as well, all accessible from the hotel by car, easy drives. My highlights of the lodge were the lovely little view, yummy baked goods, and Alexandria! You guys have a star staff member in her and she could go to ANY city and kill it with her immense hospitality. My lowlight of the lodge was Melissa! To say this person was a displeasure from start to finish is truly valid. We're considering going straight to the airport to avoid her this morning! To be short about it, my partner, who never complains about people (unlike his girl) said that he asked Melissa to print out our AT parking pass so we didn't have to drive 15 back into town. Simple request at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon at a rural bed and breakfast that I'm paying close to $400 a night for in the year of our lord 2025...but Melissa said she absolutely could not and was not helpful or nice to him. So I decided to go out (cramping and in pain and pajamas) to have a word with her. She said she had no access to an email of any kind and I told her directly I thought that was bullshit considering the time of day and day of week. I also was fine to pay for the resources used! After a couple minutes of rudeness and no attempt to accommodate or assist she finally gave me a managers email. Then I went to take a nap. 45 later as I'm falling asleep Melissa awakens me and shoves a piece of paper at my with disdain and I'm not kidding this person was shaking and like tearing up??? She was so upset that her manager asked her to give me her personal email to simply PRINT OUR PARKING PASS and how insane of a request that was. I said girl take it up with your boss???? Like I'm going to use her iCloud email for nefarious purposes? Never in my life have I dealt with such a baseline nasty person as a staff member of an American hotel. Of course my boyfriend had already left to print the pass and this was all futile. Melissa did not greet or acknowledge us for the rest of our stay and it was uncomfortable whenever we saw her. I also work in hospitality and have stayed at every kind of hotel, this person should not be fronting the most luxury hotel in the area. Props to the manager Danielle for handling the email promptly, but definitely a strange and...
Read moreWe had our wedding here and stayed for 3 days. I cannot express enough how absolutely PERFECT our entire experience was! We booked this strictly based on the amazing pictures and reviews and I'm happy to say that the reviews and pictures are 100% accurate! Berry Springs Lodge is quite possibly the best place we've ever stayed. We rented out the entire place for our immediate family to stay and the BSL took care of our minister, photographer and the on site chef cooked our reception dinner. EVERYTHING was PERFECT! The lodge is breathtakingly beautiful and very very clean. Every single room is gorgeous. We chose to stay in the Holly Springs Room which was amazing with a hot tub on the 2nd floor. The 1st floor rooms are: Maple, Autumn, Powder & Crystal. The rest are upstairs. We had our ceremony on the deck and the view was insane. Cannot wait to get our pictures back because every picture is going to be incredible! It's like a Bob Ross painting come to life every single day! Breakfast and desserts served daily and we're talking incredible food. Chef Peter is top notch - I can't say enough about how awesome the food was! Our reception dinner was some of the best food I've tasted and all our guests were blown away with how excellent everything tasted. The staff was so nice and accommodating. Anything we needed they were on it. They were all just so wonderful and made us feel like we were at home. We had our reception in the barn and it was perfect! The barn has 3 long picnic tables, ping pong, 2 restrooms, a pool table, mountain bikes/helmets, basketball hoop, fishing gear and croquet equipment. Electricity and ceiling fans too. Overall, none of us wanted to leave and I'm pretty sure we will all be back at some point. Hubby and I plan to go back yearly on our anniversary! So if you're looking for a place to hold a small wedding or some small event, look no further - you will not be disappointed in the slightest!!! If you are looking for just a romantic getaway this place is the absolute BEST!!!!!!! We cannot stop talking about how great it was and neither can our guests. Couldn't be happier. Thank you so much, Berry Springs - you helped to make our wedding more memorable than we could have...
