I have rented a pontoon boat from Lone Star Lodge and Marina for my husband’s surprise birthday party. The day of the party (coolers packed, fun balloons for the boat are in the car, excited guests are driving to the marina, my husband is whisked away to “fish” by a friend/co-conspirator, and I am in the car with my happy children) I receive a call from the marina telling me that the boat is broken. Period. That was it, no other option, no alternatives. I send the girl that called back to the manager, because I can’t believe that any place can be managed in such a way and survive. I tell her that I would like him, her manager, to call me back. She calls back 3 minutes later to give me the same message. The Lone Star Lodge and Marina had obliterated my husband’s birthday party, took away our day and my ability to ever do anything like this again. I had to deal with my kids’ tears of disappointment and call every guest and tell them all to turn around all the while trying to hold it together myself. I especially want to point out the despicable, gutless behavior of the manager. Hiding behind the back of girl who works for him! What a prize example of everything we despise in “men in power”. Oh and by the way, do you think I have gotten my deposit back? I will give you three guesses, but you will only need one. Do not rent or do any kind of business with the Lone Star Lodge and Marina. They are not interested in you, you experience or satisfaction. If anything goes wrong, even if it is their fault, you will be the one left to pick...

Every little girls dream of her dream wedding came true when my husband and I said “Yes” to Lone Star Lodge & Marina.
Everything fell into place and it was everything we ever wanted right from the start. The location and view are something out of a storybook.. or well, a Gilmore Girls episode since I am a diehard fan (same with my husband), and then when the weeks led up to our BIG day, I became anxious that I wasn’t going to have the ideal weather to have my perfect gazebo wedding.. Jennifer, the new site coordinator, was exceptional throughout the process of planning and was willing to go even to the extremes to make sure everything was just right for me.
Shout-out to our families, wedding party, Jennifer & staff of Lonestar, my wedding planner Kayla, Michael Bennett (House of Light Photography of Denton), Gaily Cowart (Electric Violin Lady) and all those who came together to make our day the incredible day that it was.
Seth and I are truly blessed.
Lone Star Lodge will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It’s everything we ever wanted in a perfect wedding venue.
Not to mention: “The view in itself is something you never thought you’d find in North Texas.. I thought I was back in Michigan with the beautiful lake & view” - Direct quote from my cousin ;)
If you are on the fence about where your next event or wedding should be, look no further than the incredible venue & staff at Lone Star Lodge & Marina.
Sincerely, Mrs....
Read moreMy son was getting married at a nearby wedding venue and we needed a place to accommodate our out of town guests overnight. The rooms were nothing fancy, but nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful, with beautiful views of Lake Ray Roberts.||||||I was most impressed with the customer service provided by employee Bri. After telling our guests to book their room here, we realized that the normal check in process was not going to work for the majority of our guests based on the timing of the event. The bride and I went to the Lodge to speak in person to someone about our options and Bri was the young lady we spoke to. She was very professional and helpful, and was able to put our mind at ease by putting together a plan to ensure all of our guests would have no problems checking in.||||They even went out of their way to personally take care of one of our guest who had flown in from California and was expecting to use a shared ride service to get from the Lodge to the wedding venue. Our guest wasn’t aware it was such a rural area and those services didn’t exist. The Lodge went above and beyond by having one of their employees drive them to the venue in their personal vehicle and got them there just before the ceremony was beginning,||||The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because they didn’t have an ice maker available for after hours and only had a drink vending machine. No...
