Great place for a quick getaway. We drove up Friday after work and appeared to get the last site at ~4pm. There was some sites that opened Saturday morning and they quickly filled. Bathrooms are acceptable and fresh water on site. Fun trails throughout the woods, multiple landing/beaches for getting in/out of tubes. We were able to hike all along the North banks of the river and eventually wade back across to the campground. Didn’t catch any fish, but there was many people fishing in the late afternoon and admittedly, I’m a beginner. Billions of crawdads.

Haven't been in quite some time, convenient ly close primitive camping if you're coming from Minneapolis. Proudly honored to say, I finally saw Northern lights there last nite, after chasing Nordlys for years. The sound of the snake river rapids flowing, no city lights polluting the sky. This campground will always be special!

The absolute basics in a beautiful location. Clean & well-maintained, but very simple: outhouses and, at the moment, no running water at all. Bring your own H20. The best part of this site is that I'd guess it's rarely full, so it's a guaranteed restful spot for very a very low price (you don't even have to pay the same day)!

Camped early September and bugs had improved tremendously. I have never been to this site before, but family camping outings at other sites in 2024 were subdued heavily by mosquitos. By september they were under control. I was car camping and the site was super quiet and isolating. This is not a heavily used campground by the looks of things and it's a great place to unplug. You literally have to because my T-mobile was out of range after passing the entrance. You can pay by mail or online but you have to follow the instructions at the sign to reserve. Overall I found it very nice and wished I could have had another evening there....

Fairly nice spots with fire pits and picnic tables, and reasonably flat ground. Most have nice trees for privacy, but a few back almost up to each other. Low price per nite. Drinking water pump and pit toilets centrally located. Depending on the river level and wind, you can hear it all night long if the other campsites are quiet. LOTS of mosquitoes when we were there, but at least we didn't pick up any woodticks. (YMMV, depending on time of year.) The road in has some pretty big potholes, so...
