After 13 days on the road traveling from Florida to Seattle we stayed in a different hotel every night. Boulder Inn was night #6 and was referred to me by a friend of my sister’s and I can say I wasn’t disappointed. It was definitely out in the open but the atmosphere of the rooms and the welcoming staff was what I expected. The previous 5 nights were pretty standard. I expect clean rooms as the price for any room today isn’t cheap. We had a room in Flagstaff that was awful and if it wasn’t the 4th of July I would have found another hotel. This room was a little dated but clean and comfortable and good size. There was a store/restaurant/bar/gas station on the property so you were covered with your basic needs. We had dinner after a long day of driving and it was really good. I was traveling with my adult son and he picked this stay as #1 on his list. If we were ever back in this area we wouldn’t hesitate to making Boulder Inn...
Read moreI booked a room here sight unseen because it was a convenient first-night stop on an extended road trip and I prefer to stay in locally owned and unique accommodations. It was perfect. The motel is in a separate building next to the Boulder Bar and Grill and Boulder Store, where you check in. Our room was large, with wood panel walls, rustic wood furniture, wildlife paintings and -- the sweetest touch -- flannel sheets with a fish pattern. The room had a fridge, microwave and flat-screen TV. The heat worked well, which was great because it was snowing outside. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was spotless, including the bathroom. The experience was like staying in a lodge or a well-appointed cabin. There's also the wonderful convenience of having the restaurant/bar/store on the same lot (all owned by the same family). I posted a separate review of the restaurant/bar under TripAdvisor's listing for Boulder...
