We are so thankful we found our way last year to the Buckhorn Inn. (Sorry we didn’t discover it sooner!) If you are landing anywhere in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area, this is the place to stay! The setting is beautiful and quiet. Lovely grounds and plenty of places to kick back and read books, assemble puzzles, or other relaxing activities (or nothing). If you are interested in activities and crowds, you are a short drive to other restaurants, shows or amusements. You are also just around the corner from the Arts and Crafts community. The rooms are lovely, well kept and clean. The staff are all friendly, engaging and ready to meet any request you might have. And, of course, there is the culinary expertise happening every day at Buckhorn. Amazing, high quality breakfasts and dinners. I’ve included a sample of the delivered to our room breakfasts and two dinners we had this stay. Of all our week long vacations in our 41 years of marriage, we leave Buckhorn as rested and rejuvenated as any we take. We look forward to many future stays…

The Buckhorn Inn is fantastic. We stayed in Room 4... it was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were blown away by the service offered by the staff. They were so polite and helped us with everything from carrying luggage, bottle openers and extra glasses, and helpful recommendations for places to visit. Daily breakfast was delicious and the carrot cake pancakes might be the best thing I've ever eaten. The view from the inn is beautiful and we really enjoyed the nature trail and labyrinth. The hotel is perfectly located on the Arts Loop and away from the commercialism of downtown Gatlinburg.

Excellent! Everything about this boutique bed and breakfast is excellent. From its nostalgic furnishings to its historic wall hangings this is a perfect get away stay. The morning breakfasts are second to none, dinners are chef prepared and fully flavorful. The 30 acres of grounds boast many beautiful gardens. There is even a lovely pond with two swans you can feed lettuce to which is grown onsite. It is lovely, whether you are staying in one of their rooms or staying in a house cottage with your family. Very happy we found this place. Service is outstanding.

UPDATE: [August 2024]

We returned to Buckhorn Inn, this time with our grandkids (6 and 12 years old) and family, and as before, ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.

We were not sure how our grandkids would react, only to find out they LOVED Buckhorn Inn as much as we do. The kids found the grounds of the Inn just beautiful and it was really like being close to nature for them. The Inn also was so very accommodating with breakfast each morning, as the youngest is a bit of a picky eater, making sure that her meal was perfect.

It was the perfect vacation and the kids want to know how soon we can return to Buckhorn Inn.

Beautiful, lovely, wonderful, friendly, welcoming, sophisticated yet charming.....and every other positive adjective one can think of....that's Buckhorn Inn. LOVE IT.

[Original Review Nov 2020]

What can I say? Buckhorn Inn is superb! This was our first trip to Gatlinburg and the Inn was recommended by a friend. It was perfect. Amazing staff, great surroundings and just far enough off off the 'main drag' that it's quiet. We especially loved the dinner we had in the Inn's restaurant. The meal was excellent. Chef Tony is creative and really outstanding. I wish I'd bought the cookbook available as the creamy broccoli soup we had....well, it was to die for! The Cottage we stayed in [Cottage 1] was lovely and cozy. It made for a welcome retreat after long days in the National Park. We had breakfast in our cottage everyday and it was always a delicious way to start our day.

If I could change one thing, and it's not a big deal, it would be these ladybugs that for some reason seem to live in this cottage. They were plentiful and annoying to me as I have a real issue with all insects, even ladybugs. They were only in the living room and seemed to make their way in through either a floor vent or the wall. I don't think this is something that can be changed as the surroundings are quite wooded and natural. We did let the inn know of the ladybugs when we departed, but again, likely not something they can fix.

We are already planning our next trip and looking forward to being there sometime soon. If we can just find a date that the Inn is not completely booked!

The price is VERY reasonable. The restaurant at the inn is AMAZING and I wish we had chosen to have dinner there every night of our stay as the local restaurants paled in comparison to the meals we enjoyed at Buckhorn. We thought the experience in the restaurant was absolutely wonderful and well worth the price.

[Noted that another reviewer said something about the menu and don't know if that person realizes this is 'an Inn' and not Denny's. Prix Fixe is very standard for an inn, as the kitchen is inclined to design and create a specific perfect meal on one day as opposed to a selection. The Inn is CLEAR on the menu when one walks in, and the menu for the entire week is made available. There is nothing difficult to understand about this unless one is not familiar with the intricacies of innkeepers. Also, the value for the price is fantastic. 'Soup to nuts' everything is included, except the wine and that was reasonable, too].

Five stars for an absolutely...

I have wanted to review Buckhorn Inn after each of our stays, but it is hard to articulate all that we love about it! The owners and staff are so welcoming and want their guests to have the best time possible. They have thought of EVERYTHING! The accommodations are very well appointed and so comfortable.||One of our favorite things to do is watch the Smoky Mountain sunset from the veranda rocking chairs. We also really enjoy the mountain view while we eat breakfast. The view is just perfect— like looking at a piece of artwork!||We plan our days around the incredible breakfasts which are included, and too good to miss. After breakfast, we head out to hike in the mountains and typically don’t need lunch, but take snacks or take one of Buckhorn’s sack lunches for purchase. There is a national park trailhead and access to amazing trails just 10 minutes from the inn. We also love making reservations for dinners at the inn if space is available. These are not included, but so reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. It is such a treat to return from a full day of hiking and get to stay on property for a gourmet dinner!||Most other guests that we have met at Buckhorn return annually, multiple times a year, and have done so for years. Adult children that stayed with their families when they were younger return with their children and parents, who are now the grandparents. Buckhorn’s guest loyalty is truly impressive and speaks volumes! It is such a special place and as soon as it’s time for us to leave and go home, we start planning our next trip. Can’t...

This property has glowing reviews, absolutely my husband and I were very excited to be going. We booked 10 months prior to arriving. But then Hurricane Helene caused havoc in the USA. A 100 year phenomenon when it comes to hurricanes. YES, the hurricane was not to hit Gatlinburg, but major rain, flooding and tornado watches were in effect. We were driving an economy rental car. We called the owner, she said she was unaware of the storm, said we were over acting, said she had lived there 25 years ago and no flooding there. She would not work with us. We chose the safe route and did not go. We reached out requesting a refund, as we had to know pay 4 nights somewhere else do to this storm. She ignored our calls and put through all the money, including the taxes?!? Seriously! She is a piece of work. As I read back through her reviews, she has other similar ones. If you end up there she likely has a beautiful place, but in any rare emergency situation, her actions appear heartless and only out for the dollar in her bank account. I can’t support a business like this. **YES, she has spoken to me and my husband, multiple times. No offer was ever given. But I couldn’t use it even if it was, as we live in Western Canada. As if we just fly back in a couple weeks for this kind of horrible customer service. As you can tell from reviews on this site or any other, she unfortunately has done the same thing to us, as many other guests traveling during Helene storm. Very sad there are people like this...
