Clear River Inn — Hotel in Pittsfield

Stayed at the Clear River Inn/Tavern the other day. After 300 miles on our motorcycles

Now the Inn ranks 0 stars in my book- But that's not the point- Its a place to crash within walking distance to the Pub that has GOOD food - It was the 2nd time I've stayed at the Inn - 1st time I was impressed with the Pub/Food and the bartender I believe his name was Doug was a pleasure.

This time around was a complete different story - Motel was the same if not a bit better being our room had a portable AC (Thanks) - So off we went down to the Pub- that I was looking forward to and talking up during the days ride.

Once we entered the Bar we were greeted warmly by Coleen the Bartender - We ordered up a round of beers no problem - I ordered a Guinness now if you know Guinness it takes a minute or 2 to draw (Art takes Time) So I sat and waited - All of a sudden the Bartender turns to me and says " My names Coleen don't whistle at me I'm not a dog" WTF was this person talking about then without a blink she turns to my friend and states that he's completely intoxicated (What) WOW- we just got into town after 300 miles on Bikes - We don't drink and ride...

So we pretty much brushed the attitude - I glanced over at the local guy sitting next to me he just rolled his eyes - Like it was the norm

This Bartender continued the OFF again ON again antics the entire time- the amount of BS she brought to the table sucked - Have a funny feeling she's got to have her med's tweaked or maybe Meds are the issue... So if you happen on the Clear as they call it - See a women with Bold White Streaks thru her hair - don't be alarmed it's not the Bride Of Frankenstein but it just might be her Sister

That said- I don't plan on returning with or group of 30 riders 1st...

I was visiting my grandson who plays hockey for UVM and as I have a Nordic ski resort in Minnesota I was visiting some operations in Vermonth and this day I was coming from Craftsbury Commons and I got a late start and heading south to Hanover. It seemed to get dark by 3:30 and it was raining and I wanted to stop as night driving in a heavy rain was not fun, I looked for a place to stay. I was on the back roads so to speak, and stopped at the Inn in Warren and they wanted $1000 for a room. Hello, but no thanks and I drove on. Got to Pittsfield and like a mirage, here was the Clear River Inn. Well lit and stopped and did they have a room. Lady was no nice and friendly and Yes they did at a great price, easy parking right in front like I like, and I checked in. Room super clean, a great bathroom and as I was cold, a nice hot shower with lots of hot water. |And as I was hungry, and the next door tavern was open as a Wednesday I was in luck. Just a short half minute walk and I was there. Again most welcoming and surprised as almost a full house on a week day night. And it seemed all non tourists and locals more at the senior level. So nice to see such a happy crowd.|Had a great meal, and back to my room for a good nights sleep The mattress and blankets so nice and comfortable. On my way in the morning and feel so lucky to have found such an accommodating place. |If in the area and in need of a great place to stay, I would highly recommend the Clear River Inn.||Jim at Maplelag...
