Heartland Lodge Sunset Valley Lodge — Hotel in Pittsfield

So I’ll start by saying my wife and I went here just to get away for a night. We didn’t utilize all the services and activities available at the lodge. The staff were very friendly. We stayed in the all about the view room. The room was obviously very outdoor themed. Mainly finishing decor. Here are some things to note that we didn’t expect. The huge lodge has multiple rooms in it. We weren’t expecting so much like a B&B where there were strangers in the same house as us. Everything was secure by using a keypad access. They had laundry area, a kitchen, dinning room, living room, and a large rec room which were all common areas that anyone staying there could be in at any time. They were all nice and well kept. That’s just not our comfort zone. The room had some minor issues with it. Ceiling fans not working, fireplace didn’t work, couple other minor things. The jetted tub was nice but small. I’m 6’ and didn’t have the most relaxing soak in it. Wasn’t bad. Just not that great. However what makes up for it was my wife and I sat in it with the back balcony door open at night. Nice cool breeze and such a beautiful sky. Very calming and peaceful. The wifi was kind of spotty and a bit slow. I wish they would have a smart tv instead of the blue ray player. Then you could cast to the tv or play Netflix or something. Overall it was a nice stay. However we wouldn’t go back unless it was with a large group of our friends and family in the lodge.... and we took advantage of the atv rental and shooting ranges. One more thing to note... if you plan on eating at the lodge you have to order ahead of time! If you plan on leaving the lodge area expect to drive a minimum of 20 minutes to get to some...

This was a wonderful lodge. We stayed in the Grand View Suite which is in Sunset Valley Lodge. Our suite was massive with a breathe taking view from the main bedroom. We had a door from our room that led you to a large deck. Our room had 2 large closets, a sauna, a sunken large jetted bath tub but the jets didn't work. We had a large double vanity bathroom sink. We also had a gas fireplace and comfortable king bed. The Sunset Valley Lodge was beautiful. Super clean and well decorated. We had access to the entire Lodge. Beautiful location for the wedding we DJ'ed. It is remote and awesome! Besides the ceremony area, which had breathtaking views of the Missouri/Illinois state lines, the reception was in their pole Barn which had the collective decorations of past weddings. Such an awesome touch. The venue all around was beautiful.
