After all the stress of the holidays, my husband and I needed a reset. What better way of a weekend trip out of State to a quite place. This bed and breakfast was exactly what we needed. The service was great!! Janis and her staff are very friendly and attentive.

Three childhood girlfriends looking for a weekend to relax, visit a flea market, enjoy the winery and some local restaurants, and above all enjoy what we thought to be a lovely Bed & Breakfast. ||||What a joke. ||||Our date of arrival was Saturday. Janice called us while we were on our way to inquire where we were. We told her we hit some traffic and would be arriving soon. ||||It all began from the minute we stepped into inn. ||||“Line up girls, stand here girls, step back girls, here stand here sweetie”. Janice started her commanding temperament immediately, giving me some concern but I let it go. Temperature checks done, she handed us a pen wrapped in tissue to sign our sheet. I became Room #4 and the girls became Room #8. Never, ever did she use our proper names. She then proceeded to spend twenty minutes describing the protocols for our duration of our stay. All of this we noted to her was on the sheet and were able to comprehend it by reading it. When we asked a question she told us to “wait until she gets to that point”. When we told her some of us had travelled a few hours from New York and were eager to unpack and make our three o’clock reservation at the winery she told us “that’s what you get for living there”. ||||She asked what was in our cooler. We said it was ice. She asked what kind?????? She told us it was not allowed on the wooden floors. We know that. She was rude, condescending, obnoxious and dressed like she literally rolled out of bed. She mentioned that the three of us could not be together in one room. We pretty much set her straight at that moment that was ridiculous and that I was not going to sit in my room and eat breakfast alone. She grumbled something and agreed that Room #8 was where we would eat. She could have set the lone table upstairs for us. She could have made it nice. She did not. ||||We should have left. We should have told her right there that her behavior was disgusting. But we did not. We had fun things planned, we had restaurant reservations. We had sweaters to wear and girl stuff to do. We were celebrating a birthday. She didn’t give a sh!||||Our breakfast was brought in a cooler. We ate it off of a bed. It was cold, clammy and disgusting. We noticed the other guests had their breakfast brought on trays. We did not. ||||She told us girls are loud and if we planned on being loud we could hang out in the gazebo outside. We are women. Not girls. And we were a little loud. But the gazebo was uninhabitable, I would have needed a tetanus shot if I hung out in there even for a moment. It was moldy, smelly, overgrown with leaves and flower rot and it smelled like skunk. ||||I told her that my patio door would not lock before leaving for the winery. I demanded that it get fixed. She told me not to worry, I’m safe here. I was not buying it. We left for the winery one half hour late because of her ridiculousness and her inability to cope with running an inn during COVID. She shouldn’t have been there, she was clearly over obsessing. ||||While we were at the winery she approached our table???Evidently she felt the need to drive over to tell me the lock was fixed. It wasn’t. Very odd, her behavior was odd....everything at the inn was odd. ||||The place is dingy and dirty. It needs a deep clean. There is a sour smell and my room smelled like old, moldy fruit. I found dusty red cloth rose petals under my moldy bed. There is green mold on all the patios and the lighting in both our rooms was awful. When I got home I hugged my son hello, he told me I smelled rotten. It was my dungaree jacket. It stunk like mold from the room. ||||She questioned us about everything, she back talked us and treated us like sh the entire time we were there. ||||Monday morning she made it a point to ask what time we wanted breakfast. We said same as yesterday. I looked at my watch to note the time, it was 7:45 which I said out loud. She snapped back at me saying “we do not serve breakfast at 8”. What the actual heck is wrong with this misery of a woman?||||She clearly did not treat us the same way as other guests. She took an immediate disliking to us which is unheard of, especially during these times. ||||I write this to point out that you can read a million reviews, thinking that all will be fine and when something like this happens, it is very unfortunate. Especially for us. ||||I had to wash my belongings when I got home because of the dingy smell from Room #4. This monster of a women yelled out to me as I was storming out the door, “Hey, Room #4 did you hang up your dirty towels?” I didn’t answer and no, I left them on the floor. “Did you shut your air conditioner, did you turn off your lights.” No, I’m a moron. Of course I did. I travel a lot. ||||Not once did she ask how our day was. Not once did she ask if we needed anything. She is not fit to run that inn. And the Inn needs an overhaul. The delight were the horses. ||||I learned a lesson. When you arrive somewhere and you get treated like garbage, bolt and bolt like lightening. Battle it out, complain with your credit card company. And if you lose your 600 bucks, well lesson learned. ||||Shame on you Janice. We are women. We know how to travel we’ve been doing it since fourth grade, we do it with our families and we do it often. Shame on you for thinking it is ok to treat other women that way. ||||And I only wrote half the garbage we had to put up with. If management comes back with an explanation, rest assured there are none. Just rudeness and perhaps Janice’s desire to perhaps not be there anymore. ||||Oh and Mike, your review from February......I should have heeded your warning. Evidently her horns come out every 8 months. ||||I held back the awful breakfast pics. I do have some...

On Saturday November 9 2019 we attended the food truck festival. I had made plans to go for a while with my husband and 4 friends. Weather was cold , sun was shining ,all good. We prepaid the tickets in advance and my friend was also in the military. At the gate we were stopped and our bags were searched. No big deal. However the security man at the entrance would not allow me to bring in my husbands snacks and meal. You see he was newly diagnosed as being a Type 1 diabetic. I explained to the man that he needs to eat what I make and it’s important that he sticks to the no sugar low carb diet. He would not listen. I again Iattempted to explain the situation Again he didn’t care stating,”that his wife is a diabetic and that there is plenty to eat for diabetic people at the festival!” My husband quickly ate his lunch and then walked to the car to put his snacks back in the car including his protein drink! Well there was nothing in those trucks that he Could eat that was for a type 1 diabetic. After a few hours I went in to the bar and asked if they had any nuts? The nice girl told me to go to the deli and asked. I didn’t know that there was a deli. I found a women and told her I needed nuts. Explaining to her y I needed them. She said she would check downstairs. After a short while she returned with no nuts. I quickly saw a small cheese, meat platter and an angel named Joanna Was very understanding about the stimulation I was having. Please l ask that you educated your staff on medical issues some of your customers may have. I would have had a better time knowing that my husband was eating the food and snacks that I Prepared for him instead of worrying about him while at...
