I have been going to Sandy Pond for some time now, maybe the last 5 years or so and this last trip (July 2025) we took was maybe our last. ||Sandy Pond is a great place, spacious sites, great walking trails and an awesome pond/beach and I little general store is right up the street. It would appear that they are under new management/owners and the facilities/shower houses look to be updated and they look great. ||My issue with this campground is that they cater to the seasonal folk and let them run amuck throughout the campground. Every time we go, there is always a seasonal family that loads up their golf carts and head down to the beach at the pond, unload their stuff and then they leave. This happens very early in the morning sometimes before the beach opens and they don’t return until later in the afternoon when the beach is full and their stuff has been sitting vacant all morning leaving other campers to find spots to enjoy. When they do come back, they come back with glass bottles, load music, and have absolutely NO REGARD FOR OTHERS who are trying to enjoy their time. Our last trip there some seasonal folks were making fun and harassing other campers who were trying to take pictures of a duck that seemed to be friendly at the beach saying “Attack, Attack” to the duck when children wanted to take the ducks picture, they also started poking fun at others who were taking selfies at the beach during sunset. We could here them saying “look at me, look at me taking selfies” towards the other guests, and yes, those same folks making fun of others were drinking out of glass bottles that are not allowed and were visibly drunk. Also, at night towards quite time (10:00pm) some of the staff would hang with the seasonal folk and chat it up drinking and swearing ripping cigarettes, we witnessed one staffer riding his golf cart through the woods chasing kids in the dark of night, sure they may have known the kids, but still not safe. I have talked to the owner (very nice gentleman) about what looked like a camouflaged hunters camera on a tree near the beach that looked so sketchy I had to say something, turns out that he needed it to look into some kids on their dirt bikes that were digging up his beach and trails making a mess, that I totally understand but it still was sketchy ass hell and no new guest would know that unless you complain. Overall my family and I will not be returning to Sandy Pond due to the seasonal people and that is a shame because a few did ruin...
Read moreSandy Pond Campground in Plymouth, Ma.Accurate description of sites we rented a site for Memorial weekend online site states our camper would fit. Not knowing this campground we decide to take a ride down there Sunday before memorial weekend the site was definitely too small my husband went back to the office was told they never should’ve given you that site your motorhome would not fit on that site but you’ll have to call back Monday to talk to the person who handles this call Monday morning was told we would’ve just moved you when you arrived My Husband stated The office told us the park was full she then said well I will move somebody who has a small camper onto that site and you can take the Site they are on my husband said even if they are all ready set up Answer was yes. He was stunned that this was their response evidently not too concerned about that campers to do that to a customer, obviously we were not going to do that put a fellow camper in a situation like that they kept the deposit of 115.00 dollars she couldn’t understand what our problem was with them keeping it I understand keeping the deposit when you cancel it was 6 days not 7 so they kept 100% instead of 50% of deposit even though they couldn’t provide us with the site , you should get your money back Campground was OK but after speaking with the staff who run it I will never camp there they have no regard for their customers at all to suggest something like that unfortunately they get to keep the deposit very disappointing this...
Read moreWill definitely not be going back. This campground caters to Seasonal campers to the point where you feel out of place. We were stacked in with no privacy, backed right up to another camper on opposite side. If they wanted to make this a better experience, those sites would all be pull through to give more privacy but of course that wouldn't happen because they would lose money. You can see/hear the campers behind you even when talking softly. At least put up fencing to divide the areas. Most seasonal sites were very well cared for and had a nice appearance, but some did not and gave it a different feel. While walking with young children, a huge group of seasonals were gathered and obviously had spent the afternoon indulging and there was an argument going on with loud excessive language. |When you plan a weekend away with family/children, this is not the type of environment (that you pay good money for) that is worth returning to. Golf carts are everywhere (almost competitive) which also took away from the quiet, serene experience that you expect from camping and didn't feel comfortable/safe allowing kids to ride bikes.|On the plus side, the beach/pond was nicely maintained and jumping pillow and hayride were a big hit with the kids. The store was also well stocked.|if you are looking for a seasonal site that has a sense of community, then this may be for you. If you are looking for a weekend away with privacy and quiet,...
