Great little disbursed campground in the redwoods with grills and restrooms. There is a little creek with tadpoles and small crawfish for the kids to see. Some of the sites are very close to road, which is loud and a bit undesirable at night, but it’s an excellent option in the area on the way to the Mendo coast. Our group was meant to be camping further east but the Dixie fire scuppered that and we had to make an impromptu plan to head to the coast. Luckily there was space here at the height of summer 2021. These spots are first come first serve. There is no camp host and limited facilities. You so have a fire pit picnic table and room to park and pitch a tent. There is a small canyon but it’s over grown with so much foliage you can’t really get down to the creek. It’s also close to the road so you will hear cars.
