Sea Ranch Escape Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Point Arena

Stingy owner takes advantage of visitors

Our stay at The Driftwood started normal, until we received a message from Vacasa that the premise only allowed 6 people, and we had to be unreasonably charged 100 per person each night or leave. Apparently the front entrance camera was used to spy on visitors and not for safety.

Note that the website description also emphasized that the 6 people were adults, so the 3 extra toddlers (not even at kindergarten) had to be charged extra for a total of 900 dollars (3 nights).

Knowing this, some of us decided to evacuate the premise on the 3rd night, however the owner refused to refund us one night potion when Vacasa initially agreed, proclaiming they can't verify how many people actually left. (But it was convenient for them to confirm how many arrived).

The entire experience made our mother's day experience horrid. The unprofessionalism of Vacasa and the stingy owner makes the overall experience awful, needless to mention, the following:

Stayed at The Barn over New Years. A few things weren't working and you constantly had to reset the on demand hot water heater, the wood burning stove was tagged non operational so it was a bit cold, the windows overlooking the Ocean were dirty inside and out. With the awesome views of ocean that is the attraction that should be a priority. The place over all was dirty. Everything else was adequate. My family has rented from Sea Ranch Escape many times over many years. They have the best collection of rental homes at The Sea Ranch. The homes we have rented are always clean and well maintained. The staff is attentive and the homes are well-stocked with necessities. We always rent homes which are used frequently by the owners. A rental agency can only do so much.
