This review is for the RV Park and not the restaurant or the meat store. In 2017 one of our RVs was put in spot #1. The spot would be fine had this not been directly on a large ant infested site. We spent about a day of our vacation taking everything out of the trailer and vacuuming them all away. We went into town and bought ant spray and traps to keep them at bay. We found the large ant mound and sprayed around it. When we requested our new site for 2018 we requested specific sites that would be a little more comfortable with some shade, not even thinking about ants. I made this request 3 times. When we arrived, the office person said that "someone forgot" to write it down and they had no spots for the first 3 days, EXCEPT site #1. We just accepted the incompetence and excuse and really couldn't do anything about it. Within one day, the ants were back but much stronger than the year before. We emptied the entire RV and ants were everywhere. At first, the office person said, "we've never had this before" which was an outright lie because we had the same issue on the same site the previous summer. Since we already were underway taking everything out, I asked them to do something to spray that site. An old man who is one of the summer hosts suggested "WE" go into town and buy traps and spray. I suggested "HE" go to town and that we were already losing vacation time. A different older gentleman who was also a summer host came down, looked at it and was sort of shocked at it all. He got busy right away gathering some chemicals, spraying down the ant source and also the RV and really helped out. The other guy made it sound like it was our fault. First I want to say that my family has been there for 3 summers eating at the restaurant for our meals, purchasing food from the meat store, renting the pontoon, renting camp sites and the cabin. So, we are not just some weekend campers. We spent a lot of money there. But, the inept office staff and excuses for not writing something down 3 TIMES is their mistake and not ours. This put such a bad taste in our mouth we won't be coming back. If you have staff that is that incompetent and blames the customer for the ants, then you don't deserve our business. I don't think people should avoid this place because of our experience two years in a row. Just do NOT...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. There are NO CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS at all. We were arriving on our anniversary night, and I went to check my email as soon as I received service (not much service in Montana). The email reads: "If you will be arriving after 7pm, please call to make special arrangements. Late arrivals after 7pm are rarely permitted". The email also states their office hours are 9am-7pm. Once I read the email, I immediately called around 6:45pm repeatedly with no answer. I knew we would be arriving after 7pm at this point. Their voicemail states they are open 9am-7pm, but no one ever answered. On Google, it says they are open til 8pm. Then the next day when I called, their voicemail said they are open til 6pm. When we arrived that night, there was no one in the office, so we did not know where to park our camper van. There was also, some sketchy people hanging out around the "restaurant" (the restaurant voicemail says they are open, however, they are not). My husband and I felt extremely uncomfortable and felt the place was sketchy. I think the owner lives in the meat market at the end of the hill? Considering I'm pregnant and this was our anniversary night, we decided to leave, since we could not find anyone to give us any clear direction. I did call the next day to complain and I was told "Oh, I'm sorry you had a bad night". No refund was offered considering we did not even stay there. Overall, I think this place has a ton of misinformation and miscommunication going on. They definitely do NOT care about their customers, they only care about making money, even if you don't stay there. I would do yourself the favor and AVOID staying here. Keep driving to the KOA- they cost about the same and are 10x better...
Read moreOur stop at the Rollins Restaurant & RV Park was not in our plans. While traveling on Rt. 93, our alternator belt snapped, which we found out later, was due to a locked AC pump. We had to pull over to the side of the road when the "Stop the Engine" light went on. This occurred at the same time that a forest fire broke out behind us. When we realized that there was an RV park only 1.4 miles away, we contacted them and asked if it would be possible to stay in their large front parking lot while we made arrangements to hire a tow truck for our RV. After having spent 2 nights camped alongside Rt. 93, we decided to take a chance and move our RV to their parking lot. The campground was not only gracious enough to give us some water for our empty tank, but insisted on giving us a site with full hookups which had just been vacated in their "full park". They addressed our needs and we were blown away by their kindness, hospitality and concern. They literally helped us recover from our ordeal. (Thank you Jenny, Cheryl, Ron, Mike, Kathy, Michelle, Terry and anyone else we forgot to name!) These are "good" people. Their campground is beautiful and very well maintained. The park is located right across the road from Flathead Lake and provides gorgeous views of the lake. They have a little restaurant that provides very good food and there is even a nice meat shop. Glad we found it! What a great place to stay! Make reservations early cause the park...
