Nice campground in the Ocala National Forest. There are no showers here but there are vaulted toilets. There was no host at my time of visit. This camp is considered a camp for OHVs so if you're a rider then there is where you'll want to stay. There is access to many trails directly from the campground. If you are not a rider you are still welcome but know that you will hear the motors from various OHVs throughout the day, especially on weekends. If there aren't many people in the camp it can get really quiet and peaceful. There is a smaller camp directly next to this one (at the time of my visit that camp was $4 more per night) where the OHVs aren't allowed and therefore you won't hear them as much. Read moreQuiet campground nestled in the shade of pine trees along the West bank of Lake Delancy. The campground seems to be rarely used at this point, no host, worn corrals and grown over shrubbery. The Florida Trail and Long Leaf Pine OHV trail both route through the campground. There are no water hookups and the bathrooms also do not have water. There are three bathrooms located around the loop. There was only one other group at the campsite other than us. If you like solitude this is your place!
There is ample room to unload and you can ride or hike right from the campsite. Access roads are in awesome shape and requires about 3 miles of dirt road to access the campground. Any 2wd camper would be fine using this campground as there is plenty of room to park and the roads inside are in good shape.
Sunrises are beautiful...
Read moreBeen going here for 20+ years. There are no real bathrooms with flushing running water. But if you have a camper and a generator and you don’t mind being secluded this is definitely the right place. There are no camper hookups The roads are not paved and cell service is spotty. It’s $6 per vehicle per night to camp. You can take your 4wheelers, dirt bikes, side by sides, horses and four wheel drive vehicles on the many trails. Sometimes the horseflies are unbearable but not always. Check the campfire regulations during the time you go. Bears are known to go into the campground (we have witnessed them in it) always lock your food and trash up properly. There is no in out curfew. There is a noise curfew but it’s not...
