This experience is one of those instances where you wish you could give zero stars.
The "villa" (term used VERY loosely) is located on a golf course. You travel through a very sketchy, sus neighborhood to reach the "villa," but once you arrive, the golf course and plantation area appear to be decent.
Check-in was more like an Airbnb situation. No one was working the registration desk. You called a staff member on their cell phone, and they give you a code and tell you where to go. I prepaid for my room. My ID was never checked or credit card presented. The lady who met me at the "villa" was abrupt and not very welcoming or pleasant.
I reserved "Villa" 3, but was assigned "Villa" 8. The "villa" adjacent to ours looked abandoned. It was dark, and the grass was at least a foot high. When we walked into the room, it was like one of those Temu videos... what I paid for versus what I got. The room, I'm sorry, the "Villa" literally only had 2 full-size beds and an old, cheap, black mesh desk chair in the corner with unknown white stains all over it. Needless to say, we steered far away from THAT thing. Unlike what they show you on the website, nice plush sofa and chairs, wooden benches at the end of the beds, a kitchen area, a desk... there was NO other furniture in the room. The room was also not clean. The bathroom had hair all over the floor, and the floor of the shower had a huge brown stain. There were dead spiders all over the room. It appeared that the room was hardly, if at all, cleaned. We were only staying overnight and leaving very early the next morning, so we toughed it out.
Sooo, I paid for a queen room in "villa" 3 and was given 2 full beds in "villa" 8. The other amenities they claim to have, but don't... Carpeting Complimentary drinking water Desk Dishwasher Hair dryer Kitchen Media player Mini bar
I'm a frequent traveler who enjoys quality lodging. The Villas at Carter Plantation was horrendous and extremely misleading in their advertisements. I would NOT recommend this facility...
Read moreMy company used the Villas at Carter Plantation for our two day annual retreat, there were 6 of us attending and we were very pleased with our stay. I coordinated our stay through Lori, who made sure our retreat went smoothly from all meals planned to making sure our meeting was not interrupted. |Our meeting room was in the pavilion and the view overlooked the driving range/part of the golf course. It was quiet, we saw maybe one golfer the entire stay which suited us fine as it was peaceful around the whole resort. |I must mention Danielle and a gentleman who’s name I did not catch who worked the restaurant and meeting area and made sure all our needs were seen too. The food was excellent all around, breakfast, lunch and dinner.|Most of us stayed in Villa 1, we did not have hot water in the morning but we all braved it because that’s the type of people we are. I reported it later that morning to Lori and she apologized and said she would have had it fixed which I have no doubt she would have but we had to be ready for an early breakfast before another meeting that’s why we didn’t report it at 6am.|Otherwise the rooms were nice and clean with all the usual amenities. I had a carriage house room upstairs with a...
Read moreWe were in area for 2 days. Stayed three nights. Clean, quiet, comfortable beds. Our room had 2 beds, a fridge, microwave, TV, wi-fi, coffeemaker, and toaster. Oh yes, iron and hairdryer too. Small parking area in front of each villa. Trees and nice landscaping.||||Very clean and quiet which are my most important issue when I start checking on hotels to stay when traveling. We are quiet and I don't want to listen to neighbors.||||Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, TP, etc.||||Staff was great, both on phone when I made reservations and when we got there. We left at 4 a.m. to head home so did not see staff at that point. Would definitely stay there again if in area.||||P.S. In the photo, the sheets are not quite "tight" - my fault as I set a bag on the bed, then took it off...
