Excellent service - the current park owners truly care about the property and the welfare and experience of park visitors. We rented a tow-behind RV camper and reserved a back-in site with power and water hookups. Here's the best part...EXCELLENT SERVICE! As we drove to our site, we passed over a weird bump in the road. The dump valve for the grey-water tank on the RV made contact with the pavement and broke! The grey-water pipe broke at the elbow and drained soapy water all over the road (thankfully only grey-water and not black-water...the black water tank holds your toilet flushes!) This was not due to bad roads in the park by any means...rather, our rental RV was poorly designed and the dump valve was very low to the ground and had poor clearance behind the trailer's wheels. It was basically an accident waiting to happen. Naturally, being this was a rented RV, I freaked out and imagined the horrors I might encounter over not getting my deposit back and having a dispute with the RV owner over an issue that was not our fault. The office manager actually came to our site to check on us right as we were backing in. I showed him the broken pipe. He immediately reassured me, told me they had a handy-man on site, and that he'd be right over. Within 10 minutes, the repair guy arrived on our site. I showed him the broken pipe elbow. He said he could help. Over the next 30-40 minutes, the Elwha Dam RV park maintenance guy replaced the grey-water tank pipe and the connecting elbow and re-positioned the dump-valve so it was no longer dragging near the ground. He also repositioned both hangers supporting the dump valves so that both pipes gained 2-3" of ground clearance (making it much safer)! The repair job was EXCELLENT. The dump valves actually looked better after the repair than before. The trailer got a plumbing upgrade! After about 45 minutes of work and what I would call a superb, professional repair job...I braced for the repair bill. I asked "What do I owe for the help?" The maintenance guy said, "Nothing, just happy to help out." I was floored. This level of selfless service and a refusal to exploit a traveller in need is unheard of these days. I could not believe my ears. Not only was the repair work flawless and professional, but since we were paying RV park customers - there was no charge! I had $10 in cash on me and gave it to the maintenance guy and insisted he keep it. He humbly accepted it. If I had $50 on me at the time, I gladly would've given it to him. Thank you so much! If you are ever out in the Port Angeles area - stay at the Elwha Dam RV Park. They have great RV and Tent sites avaliable and they will treat you right!
A few more general notes. Aside from the beyond-gracious service and repair work, we really liked the property! Our back-in space was semi-private and we had no neighbors next door. It seems the owners make and effort to space people out and deliver privacy whenever occupancy permits. Overall, the park is kept very clean and other campers are quiet and respectful of each others' space. There are very neat, well-kept common areas...including a very nice main office/reception area and greenhouse. The property is set nicely in the woods with access to wooded hiking trails (including a Dam overlook) right at the property entrance. The trailhead is withing walking distance from any site in the park. They were also in the process of building addtional patio / greenhouse structures up near the main office, owners are definitely investing in the property and making it even better! Highly recommend - this is how a business...
Read moreI originally called Elwha RV park to rent a tent camp spot for the Lavender Festival. Ultimately, I was sold on the expanded and private space that the airstream rental offered.
Reservations are best made by calling in my opinion, the staff was clear and communicative. Online is also an option. Payment is split into a deposit with final amount due upon arrival, this ends up being 65-70% of cost upfront and a chunk day you arrive.
What all was included? The airstream campsite has parking. It also has amenities specific to the airstream space they’ve created. This includes a small pavilion (solid structure), a nice grill with grill tools, and two propane heaters with a table and a few chairs. There are also lights for the evening and a bug zapper to plug in as needed.
Inside the airstream is an actually full stocked kitchen. I say actually fully stocked because some places claim that but do not have pots or pans. This place has everything to cook and set a meal for 4-5 including cups, plates, silverware.
It also has things like a Keurig and other coffee making items or supplies. They also have spices and seasonings. Besides the coffee stuff or seasonings, I’d expect an “empty pantry” in terms of other supplies.
Airstream details: it does have a bathroom with a shower. I’m a taller guy, so opted for the campground showers. They operate an environmentally friendly token system that takes quarters for each shower. They have “tokens” or quarters for people renting their airstream cabin space.
The airstream is slightly older with some refinished details inside. The main bed was comfy enough for me and my family. The second bed is a diner space converted. It’s short and a little light on the padding, but felt comfortable enough with a puffy sleeping bag padding it and some pillows.
We traveled with a baby so had a pack and play (to use as crib). For other parents, the airstream has two easy and viable options for setting up the pack and play or a sleeping bassinet. First is to remove the table and use that space, second is near the main bed, near the entrance.
Service was fantastic. They offer e bike rentals. We didn’t partake, but they weren’t pushy, just informative about them as an option. They know a lot about the area and are happy to chat. I’d remind folks that the wooded nature of the park means sometimes service/wifi is slow. That’s on the trees. Kids are hanging out around the park. I’d call it a safe place but if something made it unsafe, I have 1000% confidence that the staff would deal with it adequately.
Plan to stay again in the future for other trips. Might try their house rental one year. A family was staying there while we were there. You share the parking area and front yards, but your pavilion is specific to your area and they have other spaces for those...
Read moreI can't say enough wonderful things about this RV park and the owners and staff!! First the location is perfect to everything in the area. It is about an hour and a half to Hoh Rainforest, La Push Beaches and a short drive to Hurricane Ridge. We ventured out to Cape Flattery and that was about an hour and a half. The beginning of Crescent Lake is only a short 20 minute drive. For the park itself, it's beautifully maintained and tucked back among trees and hills. The sites are a good size and while the roads feel a little tight, we were able to navigate our 41' Class A easily through the park. Sites come with fire rings and a picnic table and firewood is available for sale around the park on an honor system. The park offers an organic community garden, a walking trail, play areas for the kids and plenty of peace and quiet. A few steps outside the front of the park are trails to the former Elwha Dam and we hiked them with our dogs. The park is very dog friendly which we love because we travel with three larger dogs. We didn't use the bath house or laundry so I can't comment on those but the office has a little store that is chocked full of great little local craft items and more! Everytime we stopped at the front office with questions, they were incredibly helpful with ideas and suggestions for whatever we were looking for. We decided to check out a day early to get a head start on our 2,400 mile drive back home and we got an email from the owners that they refunded our last day. We didn't even ask for a refund! All around a wonderful experience and would...
