I’ve been working at the park for about 3-4 months now, joining during a period of significant transition. From the start, I recognized the park's potential and its strong drive for positive change, which has been a major source of inspiration for me. I’m eager to see that potential come to life.
When I first arrived, there was a lot of negativity surrounding the work environment. I like to call it “playing in the sandbox.” However, over time, the sources of that negativity have started to fade as a new, more positive wave of change has been embraced. A key figure in this transformation has been my general manager, Zach. He’s been orchestrating a long-term strategy for improvement.
In my opinion, some individuals were given too many chances, but Zach has always been someone who believes in the possibility of change. He has helped many of the previous staff members in various ways, often receiving rude comments and "sandbox play" in return. Despite this, he remains positive—walking through the heat without getting burned. His resilience and leadership are a huge inspiration to me, and I admire the way he approaches problems.
There’s a significant difference between not knowing something and being unwilling to absorb information after it’s been shared. Zach understands this well, and we’ve all been working hard to bring things into proper order.
We now have a presence on all major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, and are working to reach a broader audience to showcase the park's ongoing transformation.
As for our events, we’ve been planning for several weeks now. After the success of our Labor Day party, I’m excited for what’s to come. The park has many exciting renovations in line, and I hope everyone gets to experience them in due time.
The park offers a variety of services, from golf cart rentals to multiple pools, a hot tub, weekend breakfast service, an activity center available for venue rentals, a library, and much more! Personally, I take great pride in providing efficient and friendly service to our customers, alongside my coworkers who are always ready to assist. We also have an emergency number available 24/7 to address any...
Read moreWe stayed at this park for one month November - December 2017. So many issues. It is definitely geared toward winter Texans. Golf carts constantly driving over the board walk, it was hard for my kids to pull their scooters out of the way or for me with my jogging stroller. This was not long after the hurricane but they didnt bother to update their website that many of their amenities were no longer there, or mention it when calling to make reservations. The playground was in multiple pieces and it was big reason behind choosing over another park. The rules for the hot tub were peeling and very hard to/imposible to read but apparently one of them was no children allowed, which was not listed on the website, yet another not available amenity, paid for the experience but not allowed to have it. Also, we were told that our children were not allowed in the hot tub while others (seniors) were in it, drinking alcohol (which is another "not allowed") and using electronics (not allowed), but only the children were enforced and not only that but we were told it was because it was illegal! LOL!! Oh my lord it is no such thing, bless their hearts. Then the icing on the cakes: I had made a friend there with some kiddos but they were from out of state and towards the end of their stay they tell me how they got free days! They had earned them, I dont remember the specifics but it was something like for every two weeks get a week free and she said I would be pleasantly surprised on checkout (they had truck issues so ended up staying longer than us.) We delayed our checkout 3 days past a month. When we went to check out they were surely going to charge us. My husband asks about this special we were told about and the lady fumbles and stumbles saying how well yes that was a thing but, but, but... it's a thing for out of state folks. We got the three days, but that is certainly not the week + the others got! Terrible business practices, bold face lying, oh yes and I forgot there was also the raw sewage smell near the club house. Lovely. Also their crummy driers melted two of my very nice microfiber blankets and two of my waterproof mattress...
Read moreMy wife was told to move her car twice because she was over the imaginary line by 3”. It was not a safety issue and there were carts and cars parked on the road throughout the day that were never asked to move. The spot was so small that my rear jacks were at the back of the concrete and still didn’t have room for a midsize suv. The spot was one of the only in the 300’s that didn’t have the wide entrance for parking. We had to rent a golf cart for $160.00 to get around because our cars had to be parked in the overflow parking which was very far away from spot 337 where we stayed. When I called the front desk for a cart reservation recommendation, one of the ladies was very rude and said that it had to be reds rentals or the logos had to be covered up. It took 3 hours to get ahold of reds before we could arrange a cart. Reds was very accommodating and robin is the best. She just happened to be extremely busy at the time. When I called back to the front desk the rude lady said I’m sure they are busy like everyone else, as if my time and money is net good enough… (once robin at reds called me back she was wonderful to work with).
The website advertises wifi that you can stream off of. We could hardly connect to the wifi and when we were connected it didn’t work at all. We couldn’t use the internet at all, send text messages, make phone calls, etc.
Both hose bibs constantly leaked causing the ground around that area to be extremely saturated. And drawing in more mosquitos than normal.
Being a concrete spot, the site was not level at all, I had to use leveling pads because the site was 2” out of level.
The hot tub is as wayyyy to hot. When I asked the desk what the temperature was, they had no idea. Definitely a...
