We booked a 2 week stay at Indian Pass Campground and it's our first time here. Keep in mind, this is not an RV park like most RV parks. This is more of a campground style. There are trees (lots and beautiful) and gravel/shell roads. There are no pads to park on, and only partial hook-ups (no septic but they do have a truck that will come to your site to pump you out, for a fee). |This is a beautiful place, but in all honesty it needs some TLC. The shower/toilet house is clean, but in need of some TLC. The staff is friendly and helpful. The office/store is pretty sad. They could sell so much in there and yet, they don't. It's a huge open space with nothing. That store could be a little gem if they only offered everything offered at the General Store that is 3 miles down the road. Why make those who are staying here have to leave to go get all the stuff needed when camping/RVing. We are a big rig (40 ft) and we got a nice pull thru spot. But, most spots here are back in, so if you don't know how to back up your rig, I don't recommend it. It is tight in certain places. We are here in March and the noseeums are HORRIBLE, for about an hour or so at dusk. Come prepared. If you like to fish, you can fish right from shore or the beach. The beach is beautiful to walk along or sit for a relaxing day. The grounds around here are in need of leveling and when it rains hard there are huge puddles. There are a few hazards here and there with things like pipes and cables that should be buried but are not and make for tripping hazards. |As one who RV's a lot I will say if we come back to this area we will stay here because it is a beautiful spot. I do hope the owners put some money into this place and get it fixed up. All in all, I do recommend this campground, just wanted to give everyone an idea of...
Read moreGot a cabin for 2 nights at a cost of around 450$. For that much you can find a decent room in Port Saint Joe. Although the area around the campground is nice, quiet and secluded (in late august), I couldn’t justify the price. The cabin itself was falling apart with broken lattice around the exterior and the screens on the porch broken and ripped. There were like 5 rugs piled on top of each other at the base of the steps covered in dirt and debris. There were stickers stuck to the sliding the glass door as you enter the cabin. Stuff left behind by previous guest still on the porch including a half smoked cigarette and jar with some coral rocks with some green sludge. There were cockroaches inside the cabin. The shower knob was broken and my 6 ft tall boyfriend couldn’t even fit in the shower. Don’t expect the hot water to last longer than 10 minutes. The toilet was horribly stained, and there is some growth around the base of the toilet at the floor. We misplaced our key one day and when we called the office, they said they don’t carry spares. Red flag. What lodging facility doesn’t have spare keys? I understand the loss of the key is our fault, but to not expect the loss of a key at some point from a business standpoint is ignorant. That is something bound to happen and that the owners should be prepared for. They said it would cost $150 to call a locksmith from pcb and cost us another $50 to have a new key made. Luckily we found the key shortly after and didn’t have to incur $200 worth of additional fees. This place isn’t worth more than 50$ a night. We’ve been on a 2 month trip traveling the country and this is by far the worst place we stayed yet. A complete rip off. I would’ve rather thrown our tent up here. One of the few positives, the stars are amazing on the beach nearby...
Read moreWe will be back! Out of all the campgrounds in the area this is the only one that gives you the feel of being close to nature while being at the beach. Our first stop was the office to grab our map and parking tag. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They made it feel like we were long distance friends and they had been waiting for us. The told us about the park and how to get to our lot. Told us the best fishing and swimming spots. The office itself was nice and clean and offered amenities you may have forgotten at the store along with souvenirs. They also had bait if you plan to fish and trust me you want to fish. There is opportunity to catch anything from catfish, mullet, flounder, red and trout. Pulling into the park I noticed each lot provides tons of shade with a variety of trees. Our lot was clean and flat perfect for our tents. Each lot offers power, water, picnic table and fire pit. We had a lot with water view and the views were breathtaking. As far as wildlife we saw a few manatees swim through, the dolphins came through several times to feed and play. Our lot was home to some beautiful woodpeckers, and squirrels. We spent our day sitting by the water and just enjoying the beauty around us. When we needed a break from the sun a short walk to our shaded lot to catch the cool breeze. After a long day at the water nothing beats a relaxing shower. The bathhouse offers laundry then in each bathroom there are showers. The bathrooms and showers were clean and private. Where you can have the water as hot or as cold as you want. They are also climate controlled so you aren't getting out of the shower into a hot and humid room. The entire campground was clean and inviting. Everyone we met throughout our visit was friendly and welcoming and we cant...
