Cypress Cove Marina — Hotel in Port Sulphur

A huge Thank you to the Cypress Cove Marina for putting up our boat while we were down there shooting an episode of Lunker Junkies TV out of Venice, LA! A very well laid out facility with everything in very convenient locations and a very friendly, experienced and accommodating staff! Want to give a huge, special shout out to Connie Morris the harbor master there! We have done a lot of shoots with a lot of different marina's in a lot of different places and we were especially impressed with Connie as she has that place running like a fine tuned watch! One of the best harbor managers we have ever run across and just an absolute pleasure to deal with! These places, especially those with the kind of action and traffic that the Cypress Cove marina see's can be a little overwhelming and a huge challenge to run efficiently but Connie Morris is on her game and in our opinion, hands down the most valuable asset that place could have! So Thanks again to the Cypress Cove Marina, all the wonderful staff and Connie Morris for making our stay and this episode shoot such a hassle free and pleasurable experience!! We are looking forward to coming...

Restaurant: Much better selection and quality of food than Venice Marina. Wait time very reasonable. I was there twice. Last year 2016 and this summer 2017. Great improvement since. Restrooms: Marina restrooms are pretty bad. Still much better than in Venice Marina. Cypress Cove has two separate cabins where Venice also two cabins but with two toilet seats separated by plastic curtain. Not much privacy there. Cypress Cove hotel has one restroom in a store. This one is ok. Fish cleaning tables are located in very end of the marina. Carts to transport fish are provided. The only complain I have is a mudee surface at front cleaning area. When you load/unload coolers...

I was fortunate enough to get a good price for a room due to the help of a good friend of mine and I am already excited to do it again in December for the orange fest. I love the cleaning station and the ability to fish right at the hotel! The room is fairly basic but had a fridge and microwave. I'm not too picky though, they had me at fishing! I was a bit surprised to hear the full price for the room but it is because of the location and the fact that there aren't many hotels in Venice and really.. where else can you walk right out and catch some big and plentiful fish any time you want?! I am going back and staying...
