They have been busy "remodeling" the camp grounds during this downtime due to the pandemic. The sites are still only half open, but this one is open. Went this week and we had all of Chico flats all to ourselves. Saw quite a few animals, they probably noticed our absence during the pandemic too. Everything is clean and you can see that plans are freshly planted around. Edison has replaced all the telephone poles and lines going for miles. Parking spots are better defined and alot less trash around the sites. Fire rating was low, first time I've ever seen that. Lots of pine cones on the ground made for excellent fire starters. All in all, not bad considering this was the free camp site. I imagine the few paid sites probably have a few other improvements. O! And they have nice new bathrooms. Hospital flats and Camp 3 were still closed, but Headquarters and Chico flats are open. Really wish they had put another cell tower up here but unfortunately cell phone signal is still almost non-existent. No T-Mobile, Metro, Sprint, Verizon, or roaming. ATT still has edge...

However there are no tables or firepits so bring your own and build your own is the only option.
