I have been going here since I was a kid so my review may be slightly partial :)
If you want to camp, remember it is only seasonally open. If it is closed you can still walk in, around, and down the river!
The main campground is flat, shaded, and great all around for families and a variety of vehicle sizes. Across the street from the main campground is an alternative with more elevation changes but may require 4 wheel or All wheel drive.
Recently I went back to experience the rock water slides which is about a 15 minute walk down stream from both campgrounds. Go in early October when the water is lower so that you can slide down the river rock without getting pushed too far. Just beyond those slides is a waterfall and swimming pools(if you can trek the hike down/around).
If you like rare plants, see if you can find a Snow Plant in May.
Have fun and remember your experience...

I had no problems the weekend I stayed there but did clean up the mess that was there prior...
