Very nice, well maintained campground at a great price! My family and I have been going there at least 20 years. Broke in three new travel trailers and one tent there. Many good memories, my oldest son, now (24) learned to ride a bike there. My youngest son, now (22) was and is still really into reptiles, and I remember one night at the ponds catching some very large bullfrogs. The owner came over to let us know there was no fishing after dark, but when he saw how much fun the kids were having catching and releasing the frogs, he just laughed and told us to carry on, but quietly. During the day, the fishing ponds very popular and fun for all, and if you like the snow, you can stay there in the sheltered valley away from the snow and only have to drive about 10 minutes to a good sledding location. The family that runs/owns this place go above and beyond to ensure you have a good experience here, and extremely helpful. This is one of our favorite getaway places. I have heard some complain about the price. You can spend $100.00 for a weekend RV stay at Quail Valley with all the amenities, (electricity, water and sewer) in a beautiful well maintained park with living trees and green grass, or you can spend $72.00 for a RV weekend at Azalia campground in Kings Canyon, with no amenities. They make you haul your water in jugs and pour it into your tank (no hoses allowed).Small spots, no grass and a very mismanaged Forrest full of dead and dying trees. You will also have to haul your waste water back home with you, as they closed their dump station. Which is the...
Read moreThis was a great little campground not far from home. Don’t let the drive in to the office fool you, it’s not all residents. They were having some septic issues so they gave us a discount for our stay. The campsites, we had a creek back in, are great. Plenty of room and a great grassy area behind our spot right up to the creek. The creek was wonderful, our 2 year old loved it. The bathrooms were so clean and the showers were free. There are a lot of permanent trailers on-site (nicely done) but only about 5 people live there full time. We also never had anyone bother our campsite or take anything. We fished in the ponds, only got some little ones. At this time they are doing a lot of dozer work. I’m hoping they have the playground up and going (and upgraded) when we go back. We were there from Sunday to Wednesday with about 8 other trailers that pulled in on Monday, it was still so quiet and relaxing. I would definitely recommend for an easy going get away, and it’s about a half hour from the Trail...
Read moreI want to start off by saying thank you to the wonderful people at quail valley. They made our stay so awesome and really enjoyable. People can complain all that they want about prices, but I have camped at many campsites and this has everything you need. No wifi which who cares it’s nature! And also, has plug in for electricity which is honestly a plus. The campsites are very clean and the grass is always nice and cut. Best $75 bucks I have spent!
Sometimes the good things in life cost money. Thank you Quail valley my family and I are very grateful and will be looking forward to coming back. California hot springs in general is a great place to be specially in the...
