Beginning in 1998 & for 23 years following, we had standing reservations for a weekly stay in a sleeping a only cabin. We have so many great memories of our stays up until the current owners bought it. Since then the prices have skyrocketed. A sleeping only cabin does not contain a bathroom or kitchen but has a bed & small fridge. The shower room is down the trail. $80 was what we paid nightly, in the beginning. Current prices are at $218 (9/2023). The new owners have not kept the restaurant going & other options are a significant drive away. Most of the old timers no longer stay there. Most also believe that the new owner really wants the resort to become a Christian resort. But it is on USFS land & they hold a lease; they only own the buildings. I’ve been super sad since we stopped coming there each year. There are, however some other really nice places to stay...

Families who came as regular summer campers became friends and family. We would have italian night at the lodge with all the campers and staff and it was so fun playing bingo with everyone. I have so many Absolutely priceless memories here. When the new owners bought the place, all the regulars were pushed out with huge price hikes and absolutely rude staff. I came up once just for a day trip and the owner and staff never acknowledged us until we spoke to them and even then I knew more than they did from being here every summer! I am so sad that these folks ruined many family traditions and turned this place into another ruined piece of history. Its...
Read moreWe had been staying here for a week each year since 1998. It was absolutely awesome when Bill McQuatty owned it but he passed away & it has been since sold to a religious family that hoped to make it a religious retreat. Much to the dismay of long time guests they hiked the prices but made few improvements. The sleeping only cabins are bare bones. A room with a bed & a funky little refrigerator. And bathrooms are down the trail. Which I really loved, but that was at previous prices of less than $100 a day. Now is double that. I think it’s shameful. And we no longer go...
