Franklin Furnace KOA is a gem. We had never stayed here before.. and KOA is our go to. My husband had work in KY and this was the closest KOA. We had a river view, both times. Yes both times! We had to be back in the area, there was another KOA closer to his job, however we chose to come back here because we loved it so much. It is very quiet during the week, not bad on the weekends but it does get a little busier. They have a fishing pond, swimming pond, little bike like go carts i guess they are to rent, put-put to just name a few. The staff and owner are amazing. This campground is newer, about 4 yrs old, and he plans to expand, how awesome is that? We will definitely be back if in the area. Sites are full hook up and back in. The sites on the river do not disappoint. The laundry room is small and clean. The store is stocked and they even sell bait. They do have a dump station and propane. Go check them out! #rvnewadventures The Potter’s

This KOA is at the top of our list for favorites. We had stayed one week and had to leave but came back to stay another week hubs had a job in the area. The staff all nice. My husband got to talk to the owner and enjoyed their chat. The peaceful river watch was amazing. We hated to leave. They have so much to offer, fishing, swimming pond, playground for the kids, bikes, basketball to name a few. The laundry room is superb just wish they had the app for the machines. We had different spots each time but both were right by the wifi extender and it was awesome service. Wheelersburg is the closest town that we saw. Very quiet during the week the end fills up most of the time. Really is a gem of a campground. We highly recommend.

Franklin Furnace KOA is a great hidden gem! Right off the Ohio River! We loved our River site, close to river access, great view, and loved watching all the large boats! Quiet camp ground, however you can somewhat hear the high way and constant trains. You can see many trains go by the campground. There is a lock that you can also see from the campground. The campground had a really large playground. We had a pretty level site. The road to the KOA is a little odd, but very well marked with signs. Only minutes for Kentucky and West Virginia. We used this campground as a base to see Hocking Hills and New River Gorge National Park. Great place and would recommend!

Super average campground. No shade trees. No swimming allowed in the lake. I told them I was sleeping in my car and they put me super far from the bathroom even though there were clear spots available. I emailed them to ask for the WiFi password and they told me to go to the office to get it. It was raining at the time. In response to the campground response: I told the guy who took my reservation that I was arriving after hours and he told me just to go straight to my site #18. He should have told me I had a welcome packet. I would have grabbed it. Or just put the wifi-password in the confirmation email? Make it easy for people! Also, they said they gave me an upgrade, but they neglected to tell me that. And why didn't the guy who took my reservation give me that site as an option in the first place? All I'm saying is that when someone tells you they are sleeping in their car, you might want to put them closer to the bathroom. There were plenty of...

It was GREAT!!! We are staying for Memorial weekend and so far everythinghas been fantastic. Could use a few more showers but im sure they are making more improvements. Saw an older lady at their little store (they have everything you need in this little store not too bad priced) and my main concern was all partying that most other places have at 3am that ruins your sleep. The lady told me they are pretty stern with that. So far we have sat out til midnight and quiet time starts at 10pm and and you couldnt hear anything. Very nice to not hear a bunch of people screaming and acting stupid. The lady told me of other things they were adding and as long as things are like this trip i will continue to come here. It is a tad pricey according to some but i would rather pay their price for clean bathrooms and have the employees/owners friendliness. Most places iv been dont compare to this place. Also have a nice little playground that the...
