A Weekend of Tranquility and Delight at The Oaks B&B
Nestled just a stone's throw away from the bustling city of Washington, DC, lies this hidden gem of hospitality and tranquility—The Oaks B&B. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have been gifted our one night stay by Kim Jones...the Executive Director of The Black Collective. And what a delightful experience it turned out to be.
From the moment we stepped through the door, we were enveloped in warmth and charm. The proprietors, Sharon & Quinton Wilder, greeted us with warmth and as if we were like long lost friends. After getting a tour of the mansion and putting our items away in our room, we went back to the living room where we were able to settle in for some charcuterie and wine. We couldn't help but marvel at the elegance and attention to detail that adorned every corner of the house. And the magic of the space was topped off by the beautiful, elegant, black art that covered the home.
Hubby and I took the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, and our adventures led us to Rakugaki, a nearby restaurant that had the most delicious ramen. Upon getting back, we had the most comfortable sleep in our beautifully decorated room.
On the morning of our checkout, we were treated to a buffet of culinary delights!! Juice, tea, coffee, fluffy pancakes, omelets, fruits, hash potatoes, ... you name it ... you got it. And each dish was a reminder of to their excellence and guest satisfaction.
we left with hearts full of gratitude and memories. Our quick one night stay was a gift we will cherish for years to come.
Thank you, The Oaks B&B, for an unforgettable experience. We look forward to...
Read moreMy high-school sweetheart and I had the pleasure I'm bringing in the new year at The Oaks in Maryland Excellent bed and breakfast with all the Phil at home features that we were looking for located in a beautiful bedroom community that was safe and very comfortable and the house is extremely clean and well-kept. We were warmly welcomed by the extraordinary & lovely couple and first-time owners Sharon and Quinton. They made us feel at home as we had access to the family and TV rooms but the hit of the night was the festive Parlor Room which had all types of yummy Eats & Treats topped off with wonderful wine and cheese. In the morning we were woken up to warm freshly smelled baked goods and a Homestyle sit-down brunch with all the features! We stayed in the Rose Room which was splendid! Cozy bedroom amenities, great closet space with squeeky clean bathroom filled with all our needs! We definitely recommend this bed-and-breakfast to everybody it's a true sample an excellent hospitality thank you again Sharon and Quentin for going just that little step extra & ringing in the new year what's your first guest of 2021 🍾👍🏾 we look forward to returning during the Cherry Blossom...

The hosts Sharon and Quinton were fantastic, pleasant and very helpful!
The entry way is very inviting and we were met with beautiful music when we entered. The dining room, living room and sitting room are uniquely decorated and felt like home.
I love that each bedroom has a theme and an en-suite bathroom. I slept in the Zinfandel Room and found it be calming with a very comfortable bed. It was well equipped with all of your needs and spotless.
The outdoor space is great! My favorite was the rooftop deck where I was able to enjoy the sun during the day and the moon and clouds at night. The outdoor space in the back is a great place to hold a number of any intimate gatherings.
I will end with the breakfast prepared by the hosts. It was cooked with love! It was beautiful displayed in the dining room and we had a wide variety of food and beverages to choose from.
It was a great relaxing weekend getaway and I look forward to...
