This has to be the worst possible publically invitational place I have ever been to! Stop tennis local Google guide to ask questions at the office take photos I'm I'm laid off right now from my regular job. Within 20 minutes of pulling into the main parking lot in front of the office a woman jumped out of an SUV. Very angrily she spoke up and said how can I help you gentlemen!!!???? I replied I'm here to observe and take some photos as a local Google guide? She replied "PLEASE LEAVE RIGHT NOW THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY!" I tried to explain to her that I was only trying to do her business a favor as a local Google guide? As she walked away from the stone parking lot she screamed get out of here go now leave!!! This is private property you must leave now!!!!! GO GO GO I MEAN NOW!! NOOOWWWOOHH!!!!! THIS HAD TO BE THE MOST RUDE WOMAN I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY GOOGLE EXPERIENCES! DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER GOING THERE AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE EVER STAY THERE I THINK SHE'S ON CRYSTAL METH LIKE ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE I'VE HEARD ABOUT IN THAT VALLEY? I DON'T LIKE TO LEAVE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT PEOPLE ESPECIALLY BUSINESSES BUT THIS WOMAN WAS UNDOUBTABLY ON SOMETHING AND THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HER TO DO THIS TO ME!!!! WORST CAMPGROUND IN CENTRE COUNTY!!! DON'T EVER TRUST THIS WOMAN!!!! BETTER YET IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY WITH YOU DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! U have zero pictures to share with the public this very calm and relaxing gentle wind blown day with the sun setting and gentle clouds in the sky. The humidity was relatively very low in the temperature was about 77 Fahrenheit. Do not trust this...

Nice, clean, friendly/accommodating staff - just NOT camping, though. Too luxurious for me, though many will appreciate the 'upper-end mid-grade hotel in a cabin', and the prices were reasonable for the accommodations. My 'Outdoor Adventure Algorithm is: (Drink+Fire+Lean-To)-(Rules+Regulations+Fees)/(Crowd-Privacy)(IsolationAcceptability of loud, primal, Forest-Man behavior)=Camping. While you won't mistake yourself for a member of the Donner Party, you'll also be comfortable, watching Dish, cooking on a gas stove or microwave inside (fire-ring out), with cold food/drinks and ice from the 'big' mini-fridge. Bunk room had 2 bunk beds, each with a full size mattress AND room to move, plus good natural light. Living/dining area is large with a wall-mounted tv, rustic wood dining set, storage room and hooks/hangers, good natural light, as well as sufficient artificial direct and ambient lighting. Comfortable couch pulls out into a comfortable bed. Large covered front porch with again more lighting and a hanging swing. Parking is driveway-close, and they're pretty mellow about blazing conflagrations (IF it's under control) so you can get a REAL bed of coals to properly cook. They also have used/re-purposed camping/RV/tailgating items for sale ( some free). It would even make a good event-specific yard-sale trip. Overall, a damned nice hotel in the woods. Not a survivalist challenge or hXc camping experience; just a clean, safe getaway for a game, Arts Fest, or just a...

Great central location to Poe valley, Whipple dam, state college for anything you’re doing. Whether it’s exploring nature or coming for Penn state. The grounds are clean and well kept. The cabins we stayed in 72-73 were great. A/c, large mini fridge, fire pit, heater and lighting. The beds are a little stiff so I would recommend a topper or pad if you have back and joint problems. The playground was great for our kids 6-7-8-9 and the WiFi worked great for ours and their devices.

The cabins we stayed it I would recommend to someone this mobility issues (wheel chair/ walker). There is no lip/ step for chairs or mobility aids to let caught on and can easily traverse the grounds from the cabin. Also the nearby swimming dam beaches offer wheelchair ramps to enter the water.

The bathrooms and showers are kept clean and stocked. The only negative is the drainfield for this system seemed overloaded and had the one area soggy but this did not impede or effect our stay.

I would recommend this to anyone with a tent/ camper or wanting to stay in a cabin and plan to stay here again this...

Stayed here for 3 months and loved it! Sue was very accommodating and helpful in suggesting the best places to hike, ride and shop in the area. We were staying here while working a job in State College and discovered we were literally right across the street from great Dual Sport Motorcycle riding trails. This campground hosts many annual events for dual sport riders, bicyclists, fishing clubs etc... They have a pavilion for large group gatherings and offer cabins for rent if you don't have an RV. The area is absolutely beautiful! Coming here was an unexpected surprise. You are surrounded by many state parks with unlimited things to do outdoors. We are full time RV'ers and have been traveling for 4 years now and this is the nicest area we have stayed in so far. Thank you Susan for your wonderful hospitality! We hope to see you again!

This place did not disclose that our cabin was right next to the highway on the phone before we got there. When you think of staying in a cabin do you imagine tractor trailer wizzing by with jake brakes blaring and staying right next to the entrance with no privacy? Ya me neither. We pulled in at 9 at night and decided to stay in a hotel somewhere else. We were very mislead. We called the next day and asked for even a little bit of our money back but nope...they took all $175 bucks of our money (including $40 for a pet that didn’t stay there either) for free. DON’T STAY HERE even the cabins farther away from the road can hear the highway clearly. Also there were colonies of insects on our cabin. I’m the last person to write a bad review but I couldn’t help it here. Worst place ever.

Definitely coming here again. Modern, convient host with great guestbook manual of things to do, eat , etc. Very well cared for and beautiful campground. Loved the jacuzzi and amenities were amazing. Jake was a lifesaver at helping any guest in need: helped maneuver a stuck trailer, helped find the rental in the dark and was able to change check in time because we had some trouble finding place GPS was lost last minute. Great vibes and great people. Only downside the upper bunk is hard to get down from because the entrance is narrow for an average adult at rhe tippy top; wish ladder had wider steps too, but this is universal it seems for this style bunkbed.
