Great place. The owner lives close by, so he arrived 5 minutes after I called requesting a room. He was friendly and gave some local information about roads, employers, the hours of the local establishments (including the Lumberjack Tavern, site of a murder described in the book and movie, "Anatomy of a Murder" starring Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick, and George C. Scott, filmed on-site in little ol' Big Bay). The room was excellent. Clean, modern. Small fridge, A/C, very clean bathroom. The wifi was a little slow but considering Big Bay is at the end of the earth, I have no complaint. Great place to stay, excellent value. This 11-12 unit motel is clean and will meet your needs if you are looking for a quiet place to rest after exploring the UP. The room includes a TV, microwave, coffee pot and refrigerator along with a small table and chairs. Everything is really basic, but it is quaint and clean. The bathroom is sparse, but there are plenty of towels. The only thing missing was a hair dryer.||We were hoping that it was dark enough to sit outside and see the stars, but the parking lot and porch lights were too bright. ||The people in the unit next to us brought a little camp stove and cooked themselves a breakfast in the morning.||Next time, we will be prepared with a breakfast option and...
