I have traveled extensively and stayed in places ranging from motels for construction workers to 5-star resorts. This is by far my top pick of anywhere I’ve stayed.

Here’s why……

First of all Sha is one of the coolest, nicest, most welcoming people you would ever meet. Before you ever meet them for the first time you get that vibe through correspondence. Each of my stays here couldn’t have gone any smoother from start to finish.

When you first get there and go to the front desk, they greet you like old friends or family. The place feels more like a modern home than a lobby. It’s partly two stories and they have areas to hang out, drink coffee from their awesome coffee bar (they’ll make you a great espresso or latte), play games (which they have), listen to music and socialize or just whatever. Honestly I’m an introvert but they make this place so comfortable that you feel like you’re with old friends.

Sha is somewhat of an outdoors person and there’s plenty of opportunity for that nearby with the mountains and lakes providing endless activities. Each time I’ve visited he’s been working on something or cleaning or building something. They have outdoor activities set up and areas to hang out and a nice fire pit where he likes to build a fire in the evening and sit and visit. He seems to work hard every day on his little piece of Heaven in the mountains to make it a comfortable and relaxing experience.

The rooms are extremely nice like brand new and extremely clean!!! All of the furnishings are modern and the a/c is COLD 😊. They have super high speed internet (I clocked it at 300 mbps), Roku TV in the rooms a mid-size fridge and the beds are comfortable. You certainly don’t feel like you’re in a hotel somewhere!

Finally let’s talk prices. I spoke with Sha quite a bit this last trip. Unlike a lot of people who are over priced and just out to chase a dollar, Sha understands that the key to sustaining a business is to treat people right and they will spread the word and also be repeat customers for years to come. This is why his prices are so reasonable and good place is well taken care of and maintained.

Honestly writing this review wasn’t easy. This is one of those places you kinda want to keep...

So my family recently stayed at Bigfoot Hideout and we absolutely loved it! We stayed in room 4 which had a bed room, living room with a pull out couch and a full kitchen! The kitchen had everything we needed and I was surprised it even had coffee filters and grounds! Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Our big boys stayed in room 6 aka the bunk room and it was just as nice! It had a good sized fridge, microwave, queen bed and a set of bunk beds! The check in office (not sure what to call it) had a nice little coffee shop where you could get a delicious cup of coffee and fresh bread most mornings and there was even an area up stairs with tables and games or you could go out on the little balcony to sit and watch the sun come up! The coffee was delicious the views were great for sunrises and sunsets! I think the word that comes to mind is peaceful! Overall here were the perks for my family fridges in every room so the boys could have snacks and drinks even though they didn’t need a kitchen, cute little coffee shop with homemade breads, clean rooms and bathrooms, board games and a place to play them (or drink coffee hang out etc), the views out front and back for sunrise and sunsets, hanging out around the fire pit at night, the lighting and just overall all peaceful feel (we spent both nights just sitting outside chatting and laughing), being close to lake Fort Smith where we went kayaking, being close to lots of hiking trails, and how knowledgeable the host Shaw and Michelle were! They were so kind and answered all of our questions with great advice! They not only knew all the things to do but also had great advice on what would work well with ours kids ages! This was the first time for us to visit Bigfoot Hideout or Winslow Arkansas in general but it definitely won’t be our last! Thanks again...

Nestled amidst nature's embrace, my stay at Bigfoot Hideout was an enchanting escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm hospitality of the staff, setting the tone for a truly memorable experience.

One of the defining features of Bigfoot Hideout is its impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their attentiveness and friendliness added an extra layer of charm to the already inviting atmosphere of the hotel.

Cleanliness is paramount, and Bigfoot Hideout certainly excels in this regard. The entire property is meticulously maintained, with every corner reflecting a commitment to hygiene and sanitation. I felt reassured knowing that the hotel prioritizes the well-being of its guests by upholding such high standards of cleanliness.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking views that Bigfoot Hideout offers. Whether gazing out at the tranquil lakes or admiring the lush greenery of the surrounding parks, each vista was a feast for the eyes. The opportunity to immerse myself in such natural beauty right from the comfort of my room was a truly rejuvenating experience.

Furthermore, the hotel's proximity to lakes and parks made it an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts. With scenic trails and recreational activities just a stone's throw away, I was able to explore and reconnect with nature effortlessly.

In conclusion, Bigfoot Hideout exceeded my expectations in every aspect. With its exceptional service, pristine cleanliness, and stunning natural surroundings, it provided the perfect setting for a serene retreat. I wholeheartedly recommend Bigfoot Hideout to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway amidst...

Bigfoot hideout is a fantastic place to call your home away from home. From the minute you arrive, you will feel welcomed into a beautiful, clean and peaceful setting. There are many great places nearby to go hiking, biking and kayaking. Devils den, Lake, Fort Smith, Lake Fayetteville, and White Rock Mountain are just a few examples of the places we got to try. It is also so special in its ability to create a feel of community for both locals and guests. Sit around the bonfire, coffee bar, sunset picnic table, or enjoy the games, books, and tons of cozy spaces inside and out to relax. We enjoyed the homemade treats by the amazing owner Sha ( lol sounds like “GrandPA” but he is not even close to that 😉) who has created a unique experience for his guests, and will personally make you a great cup of coffee day or night. He is happy to share tales of travel and recommendations. Charlie was also on hand as well to help facilitate any adventures you wanted to pursue. They both truly felt like friends who were eager to share their love of the land. I always do my research before traveling, and I have been an avid traveler all my life. However, sometimes I am guilty of not taking the time to leave a review. Bigfoot Hideout made such a positive impression on us that I really felt motivated and confident to share our experience. Sha and Charlie are awesome and will make sure you stay is fantastic. We will be back! Fayetteville eats and treats shout outs: Feed & Folly-sit on rooftop, Hanger steak, El Ron’s Chicken and the maple vinaigrette -YES Crème ice cream – amazingly creamy but negative, they don’t let you sample flavor before buying. Fossil Cove – beer was good but the pizza was GREAT(wicked wood pizza on site). The Jolene with balsamic drizzle was SO good.

I’ll try to keep this review brief but for a summary: 6/5 stars!!! Beyond an amazing stay. The lodge is warm and welcoming with the small cafe, couches, and other areas to socialize and hang out. The property is gorgeous and really allows you to appreciate the majestic beauty of Arkansas. Plenty of opportunities for hiking, campfires, and more. And the SUNRISES???!!! Unbeatable and some of the best I’ve witnessed, with Artists Point as an alternative a short 3-5 minutes drive up the road. Plus - there’s cats! Who doesn’t love cats? The rooms were super comfortable and I sleep like a log waking up well rested and refreshed. Everything is new and clean and very well taken care of and maintained. No worry of the outdoors ending up indoors if you know what I mean haha. Which brings me to my last point which is - Sha, the owner, is an amazing human being. One of those special type of people you meet only a few times in life. I know I have made a lifelong friend and connection and I’m sure you’ll feel the same way about his genuine and positive spirit. He will absolutely do whatever he can to make you feel comfortable and at home. Truly a testament to the type of small business owners I seek to support! I stayed during a cross country motorcycle trip (Transamerica Trail) but BigFoot Hideout is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to enjoy a gorgeous piece of Arkansas. Best stay in NWA hands down. Doesn’t hurt that it’s a steal of a deal, but I would gladly stay again for twice the price!
