Wonderful basic campground with quick, easy access to/from the Interstate. Owner is attentive, and really nice. Quiet and relaxing campground. When we were there in September, and the campground only got around half-full each evening, one of the things that impressed me was that he made a point of leaving an empty site between each RV.
Even though it is close to the Interstate, road noise isn't bad, though there is some.
We stayed on site #30. Pull-through FHU 50/30/20, water, sewer. 4" threaded sewer connection. Gravel pad, small grass strip between sites that have standard commercial campground parallel sites spacing. Wide enough for our slides and awning. Site was just long enough for the coach and the car. Site was 0.8 degrees low in the rear and 0.6 degrees low on the right. That was just within the limits to be able to auto-level our Class A gas motorhome without having to use supplemental pads under the tires or leveler feet.
The section of the campground we were in is all pull-through FHU sites. There is a ten-foot wide strip of grass between each gravel pad. There are also six or eight "Big Rig XL" sites that have two sites adjacent, but they have a large grassy area on each side between those two sites and the next pair.
They have four washers and four dryers. The washers are $3.00 per 30 minute load and the dryers are $2.00 per 30 minute drying cycle. All were working and worked properly.
The bath facilities are basic, but functional, and very clean.
Big rig friendly.
We would definitely stay here again if...
Read moreThis was our third stay at an RV Park in South Dakota. We had previously stayed at Oasis Campground in Chamberlain SD which is a very nice large commercial park with a pool and laundry room, and we had stayed at R and R Campground in Mitchell SD which is also nice and conveniently located near I-90 with easy access behind the Super 8 Motel. Alternatively, New Frontier RV Park is an experience of Western hospitality and we were definitely road-weary travelers searching for a stay unequaled to commercial campgrounds. New Frontier is located in the small town of Presho with an extremely welcoming owner Neal. Neal suggested the local bowling alley, Jet Lanes, for dinner where we ate delicious beef burgers and chatted with some local people, on the way back to our trailer we stopped at the General Store for fuel and ended up buying the largest ice cream cones ever! Neal invited us to sit on the porch with him and several others that evening to discuss how to support making America strong again, but we were exhausted and spent a quiet evening in our trailer instead. We did talk to Neal for at least an hour the next day as we were pulling out headed for Cheyenne Wyoming. This is our kind of home town country RV park, which was quiet at night with no barking dogs and genuine friendly folks. For sure on our next trip to Minnesota we will be staying at New...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 nights on our way through to Western South Dakota and beyond. Very clean place, welcoming. Sites are close together but unlike many other places we’ve stayed, it did not feel like a parking lot. They park the RV’s strategically, so that everyone has they’re own little bit of privacy. There’s a sweet spot during the day when the one nighters are gone and the campground is mostly empty and it is quite lovely, with a constant breeze that blows in off of the plains it is very relaxing. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. They treated us warmly and even invited Us to eat and enjoy some fireworks on the 4th of July. (Which were absolutely enjoyable, under control and not annoying at all) The WiFi was sufficient, I would say pretty typical for campground WiFi. The laundry facilities were so clean that I ended up doing every bit of laundry I had, even though I hadn’t planned to. There’s a little Convenience store nearby, But that is Pretty much it for Presho, So I would recommend getting your groceries on the way in. OH! And there is a nice little field that I was able to let my dog get some exercise in, which is so important for a young, traveling hound dog.
I would absolutely stay here again. I hope I didn’t leave...
