I wouldn't describe this as a "resort" by any means; maybe a mid-level campground at best. None of their listed amenities (pool, mini golf, etc.) were actually available during our stay and they didn't look anywhere near being ready to be open. As others have mentioned, there is potential here, but the clear lack of competent management and employees are only running it further into the ground.
Once you exit the interstate, the 2-mile road to access the RV park is a nightmare in itself. It is NOT big-rig friendly! Very tight winding road with no shoulder and sharp drop offs if you do happen to get to the edge of the road. The turn into the park is on a blind corner where you'll likely have a close call or two during your stay getting in and out of the park. And on that road you get ATVs and SxS flying up and down not paying attention to anyone or anything and adding to the constant noise of the interstate traffic on the other end of the park. There's nothing peaceful about staying here, that's for sure!
We arrived on Saturday for check-in at 2pm behind another 5th wheel and were greeted by a closed camp store and no employees in sight. We eventually decided to check the "after hours" check-in and found our packet directing us to our site. This would have been fine if we were told of this, but if your guests arrive during published open hours they expect to not have to go to find their stuff in the "after hours" check in. Nevertheless, we made our way down to our site to find all of the sites very overgrown with a clear disregard for regular lawn maintenance. One of our neighbors even ended up pulling out their own trimmer to trim the grass at their spot down enough so their dogs could actually go outside. Playground equipment and tables were in dire need of repair, poorly placed fire pits within 6 feet of sewer connections of adjacent sites, and the actual manager of the place riding and revving is Harley through the campground several times a week should be enough to top it off.
Honestly, I could go on as we were there for 4 weeks and saw some pretty questionable things but I think you get the picture. If it weren't for us pre-paying for this spot and there being very few alternatives to this location we probably would have taken the loss and left...

Top floors only: choose the (left)Queen, (Middle)Emperor or (Top Right) King Room. They're all about the Same tbh. The King Room does have a King Bed instead of the Queen Bed. All have a clean pull out couch(3 seater) & a 2 seater couch. Overall we fit 7 people in 1 Queen Suit Comfortably. Yes it had a "hot tub" but it was more like a bath-tub with air jets, lights, and a built in radio. Cool but we could do wo it. The stand up shower next to it was enough. The Cabin with 1 'Queen Bunk Bed' is by the 'Lodge' aka check in area.. smaller room above the laundry & restrooms. The laundry rooms and restrooms were very nice, cheap ($1.50 a wash) ($1.00-$1.50 to dry depending on the machine) provide your own laundry soap. Change machine is in the lodge/check in area. That closes early like 2pm or 5p.. but people are always around to help. The 'help' live On the property and can & do help you no matter what time you arrive. If ever you need help call the maintenance # on their website. Lots of prominent rvs come to this place. But its quiet. (Quiet time is 8pm-7am) Camp fire rings are provided, just be aware there are local black bears & Bobcats. Watch children 24/7 if out n about at night. There is good lighting, security & laundry machines. Put-Put was good!! ($3.50kids/$5adults) people do walk alot around the sites super friendly people.. A+ over all.. My kind of camping đ. No tent sites.
Lastly, there's a $400 rental home w 4 beds, couches..etc.. that's on the other side of the road. Didnt experience that, but it was a ranch style home.. had chicken around it too.. đ Great last minute find. We enjoy the Hiltons but this 'cabin-style' room was a good change of pace. must be able to handle...
Read moreWe live close just in Beckley but needed a couple days rest that we could bring our pup with us. I booked through booking so I didn't have to pay anything until check in which for me is a plus bc I live paycheck to paycheck. Ladies in the office called me day b4 and invited me to check in early since no one was renting the suite we were the night b4. Very professional and super nice people. Check in was smooth and very quick. My husband and our pup went straight in for a nap and of course me to the pool where I had a pretty good nap myself. The grounds are kept up nicely. It's quiet and comfortable. The suite we are in is the Emperor Suite I booked the deluxe family suite I'm not sure if they are the same or if they upgraded me but either way it's very nice. My only complaint is the air conditioner is in the back of cabin in the bedroom so the whole TV/ kitchen area is extremely warm this one air unit isn't enough for whole suite. This unit though has everything you need to cook and clean up after. It has a smart tv in living area and bedroom you can stream too. An electric fire place if your trying to set like a romantic vibe you totally could in this unit. It also has the coolest spa tub I've ever used. The swimming pool was clean and the view is gorgeous from the pool patio. It's a little bit of a walk to the lobby/store/ pool but I think they may rent golf carts. So far we are extremely happy with our stay and our pup is comfy and that means alot as it is his first trip away from him. I totally recommend y'all bringing your family or just you and your spouse and checking it out yourselves!!! Thanks Brushcreek Staff for all...
