Hillside Manor Motel Oak Brook/Chicago Westchester — Hotel in Proviso Township

I don't mind bad hotels and I mean bad to give you a frame of mind I read these reviews and still thought why not can it really be that bad. Then I called to see if they got a room and the price. It goes to their answering service, and it's a whole bizarre one of the strangest phone calls in my life, call yourself and ask about availability you'll see what I mean. Anyhow a reservation is made cash is ok 55 dollars blah blah I'm sending a link pay now to save 3 dollars ... I'm like yeah that's ok I'll pay cash. Good decision, because when I arrive the first thing I hear is "85 night!" Language barrier, or he wasn't even having it moreso because I'm like I called there's a reservation... "no 85!" Im laughing like so who did I talk to on the phone with he's from your company. For a moment I'm like did I really talk to the hotel but yes it's not like some scam or someone pretending to be the hotel they went on and on about hotel rules details blah blah and moreso they suggested cash is fine themselves that would be a very strange scam suggesting someone NOT give a credit card to them, actually on second thought based on what happened the actual hotel is itself a scam in fact they'll even do it in person when you arrive!.... Mindblowing stuff... anyways all he would yell back through the bulletproof glass is "NO PHONE! 85!!!!". He was very unlikeable screaming at me but I think he was actually very kind trying to spare me the pain of staying there and thank goodness he did because some other hotel I ended up at down the road was also roughly 85 but much nicer so I appreciate him. One thing is for sure PAY CASH ON ARRIVAL if you must I don't even know would have happened if I paid ahead he didn't even let me get a word in or acknowledge the possibility of a reservation I'm sure he would have demanded 85 in full regardless of whatever was...

I sit and read the reviews lately and believe me guys, nothing has changed. When I checked in, I was charged another 20 dollars, because, in their opinion, I paid too little for online booking. The next time I returned to them the next day on my truck. They said they couldn't let me park my truck in the parking space,because hotel very busy, but there were only three cars in the parking space. I found a parking space for my truck a mile away from the hotel. And when I returned on foot, they told me that the reservation was canceled and wished me a good trip. I believe that the hotel team is simply mocking their guests.This becomes clear based on their attitude and the quality of the rooms.This hotel is the worst and smelliest place I have ever spent a night in. If possible, avoid this place by all possible means. If you have any respect for yourself, do not stay in this hotel under any circumstances.

The night attendant was nice. But the room itself was horrible. It smells really bad🤢. It reaked of cigarette smoke! The tub was dirty and had a ring around the bottom of the tub. The furniture was dirty. I don't think they changed that furniture since the early 90's. There was no microwave. I could not pay with my card. Cash only and they didn't even have change for an 5.00 bill. So I let him have the change. The T.V was so old that there are lines in it. Nothing there is modern. And there is an old phone, the attendant called me on. I thought maybe they had the wrong room and around 1050 am, someone comes banging on the door asking if I was leaving because he said I didn't answer the phone. Anyways, be cautious, I slept in my clothes because I was scared of bed bugs & other microscopic bugs. I would have paid more at a different hotel but they were all booked. Enter at...
