I have been camping a long time with a tent and now with a camper. I have camped from Virginia to Colorado. Never have I ever been treated as poorly as I was this weekend. I reserved a site this past weekend for my friends and I to do some tent camping. I reserved one of the waterfront site which is expensive for a tent site but I thought it would be worth it. Boy was I wrong. The camp host had my tent moved off of the site I reserved while I was not present. Supposedly because the guy who came in way after we had set up could not set out his slides. Which I can tell you was not the case. I have been doing this for way too long, I’ve seen too many camp sites. Where I was set up was fine. Not to mention he watched me as I was setting it up. If I was in a bad spot he could have said so then. So while I was on the lake he had my friends move it to the dry lake bed that normally would be underwater. When I asked him why my tent had to be moved all he said to me was he didn’t want to talk about it. Ok George, we don’t have to talk about it, because you know what you did was not right. And it was a very good thing that tent did not...
Read moreGatewood Campground is beyond a doubt, the best campground I've ever stayed at. I have camped there off and on for the last 20 years, going all the way back to when it was just a basic little place only locals knew about when it was managed by the Pulaski town workers.

The sites are spacious and affordable, there are miles and miles of trails to enjoy, the reservoir, fishing, hiking, biking, you name it. Full RV hookups including sewer. My heart aches that I live too far away to stay here. If I could get a couple weeks off work I'd totally drive my trailer across the country just to breathe that air again and paddle my kayak...

Now, you can't have the boat out after a certain time, all the remote campsites have been disbanded. This was my favorite thing to do on a weekend and now has been completely taken away. I miss the old ways
I hope one day you guys will bring it back because I have so many memories being out there and relaxing on the water and catching fish all night. I don't even care about the $ amount, I just want the opportunity to be provided again...
Great place to fish and have picnics but still tore up on the one thing that made...
