We talked with the owners for over a year about eloping here and they were all cool with it. They quoted us $175 a night. They where cool with us having an impromptu exchanging of vows at the back of the villa. They told us we can't have any guest stay over because we're just paying for us two... not a problem because all we needed was our photographer and the officiate to be there for maybe an hour. Then three days before we arrive we're told... 'oh, by the way, there a $200 fee to get married on the property. (NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THAT BUT WE DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF A CHOICE AS EVERYTHING WAS SET INTO MOTION) When we arrive the $175 became $195 ... more than they advertise and no 25% discount like their add says. The wifi was great up until we got started and I tried to live stream it for friends & Family to watch... that when it shut off. I got to marry the love of my lift so I took it in stride. Putting money back into the economy I kept telling myself. Then the kicker --- as we were leaving the owner started asking us how much we paid of the Photograph and the Officiant because he was a a page to his website to do a wedding package deal (I'm sure so he could gouge couples by charging even more) Then he tells us he's going to make us famous cause he downloaded our wedding photos of our Photographers web site and was using them on his page. That's when I lost it! "you can't use our pictures on your web site... they are private and you can't use them!" His reply, " Yes I can because this is private property." I paid $200 for NOTHING! So, I asked and well other people charge those fees and he says it's cheap compared to other places. I ask him how he could in good conscious charge me for something at the last minute that was never mentioned until we had no choice... his reply was a flower arrangement they put in our room. A gift that we didn't ask for. Bottom line this person has no conscious and is looking to nickle & dime people to death. Pure greed. I haven't even gotten started on the waivers, list of rules of things you can't do like us the tub, or his dogs that are all over you when eat breakfast. Even though they are two pages in their welcome book about NOT feed the dogs. Or the dry rotted hammocks that are like lying on a wooden beam... no noise between 9pm and 9am even though they let their dogs out at 7am and they run crazy barking at everything so no sleeping in... the 20 gallons hot water heater that give you about 5 to 7 minutes to shower... the community bottles of Kirkland shampoo & conditioner ... The Scott 1000 single ply toilet paper cause what lady doen't love that ... I'll have more in my trip advisor rating as well as any other for of social media that I can find. Bottom line. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else!! This guy is the...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for 3 nights shortly before the covid shutdown. Yes, the impression of the resort itself is absolutely unforgettable. The owners have created a fantastic microcosm on their property. I would gladly live there for several months (if I had enough money and time). The room itself is a complex conglomerate of everyday comfort, hotel service, modern equipment, etc. The room is stuffed with all sorts of interesting things. For example, a whole library of all sorts of interesting magazines and books. You can spend a lot of time there and you will not get bored. Just do not forget to close the doors to the garden at night - you can wake up with a python in your bed. Tropical trees and flowers grow around in pristine silence. Full of all sorts of small game animals. We walked through the thickets of the jungle to the waterfalls in the depths of the forest. It's fantastic! (I am listing all this for those who are interested in more than just computer games). I saw photos of what the property looked like when they bought it. I can imagine the dramatic amount of money and effort it took to restore everything and create a new fantasy world. Location - 10 stars! The price per night (even though there should be a minimum of three nights) is very low. Resort always overbooked. Surely, the price should be 70-100% higher. It's worth it. No money? Stay at Holiday Inn. And here you are not offered to spend the night, but to acquire a different, out of reality, experience. What I didn't like... Beautiful and exquisite vegetarian breakfast. I am against it! I do not insist on an omelet with bacon with plasticine under the name of American cheese. Here it would look indecent and offensive. But at least a slice of fresh lox! I called here in the summer of 2020. I wanted to come with my wife for a couple of weeks. We are quite solvent. But the resort owner told me that they only accept guests with a covid vaccine. I am against it! I have perfect health and don't want to ruin my health because of the idiotic ideas of crazy bureaucrats. So, my rating still is five points! I recommend it to everyone for whom my "cons" points are...
Read moreNot a lot we can add to the glowing descriptions in all the other reviews as we agree with everything previously said. In our case, we were looking for a combination experience of relaxation on the beaches and some rainforest hiking in a truly warm relaxing climate when we chose PR as a destination. Couldn't have made a better choice when we spotted the Rainforest Inn's web site. It gave us everything we were seeking. The setting is special....tucked away up a mountain road into the rainforest. The relaxing sounds of the coquis and birds with a wide variety of jungle plants and flowers.....and a view down to the distant ocean--true tranquility. Wow. Accessability to many nice beaches on the northeast side of the island.
We stayed in the Paradise Suite....beautiful, tiled floors, open, airy with many fans and a kitchenette and a really nice walk-in shower. The bed even has an integrated cooling/heating pad. A nice surprise to know about is the availability of a free wash/dryer complete with detergent! Best of all though was our hosts Bill and Renee. They made us feel like we were staying with friends....great hospitality and responsiveness...even to some unusual repair material requests!! Bill gave us recommendations to the 2 most incrediblke beaches--Playa Colora and Playa Escondido that combined our desire for hiking and relaxing on beaches. I'd have to say Playa Colora ranks in the top 2 or 3 of my list of world's best beaches.
Finally, as every other review has mentioned......Coffee & breakfasts. Pretty cool when you start out your day with the highlight. Great coffee and the most incredible and unique and delicious breakfast creations....every one worthy of a photo shoot.....all freshly prepared and healthy!
All in all, this has to be the best Bed and Breakfast we've ever experienced. Know that everything you read and view about this place is true...
