Great little campground for people that don't mind a more rustic "camping" experience - there aren't fancy facilities, for example. Otherwise though, sites were clean and well kept, and a good value when others nearby were booked full. The turn into the campground can be quite sharp from one direction so anyone with a trailer needs to come in from a certain direction, and you also definitely need to be aware when leaving as there's a pretty blind corner/knoll that traffic can sneak up on you from, in addition to being a relatively narrow road. The only complaints I can muster are the lack of a lock on the porta-potty near our site (I didn't check the other) and unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your outlook), there are no real set "quiet hours". That may or may not be an issue for some, but for example, there's a camper a few sites down that is either playing karaoke or just overly loud music that's resonating throughout the campground at past 1 am. Having a mentioned/posted quiet hour might potentially stave that sort off behavior more. (Additionally, someone must've decided to say something to the offender because as I write this, there's now a loud argument brewing and I expect it'll do nothing but escalate the volume.) Hopefully other guests have more respectful neighbors during their stay, as otherwise it's a lovely quiet campground a very short distance from Knoebels park with a scenic atmosphere.

This is the most beautiful campground in pa. & ive been to many! The sites vary in size but ask for the stage site! Its huge & near potty & the vies is amazing! Mountains for miles! & u see knobels lights! Dan, the owner is very helpful & accommodating. He was always nice talking to, he treated my daughter like his own & helped us explore his lovely 18 acre land. Best on a sunny day in may! Absolutely loved it & dedinitelty going back...making it my go to when I'm not trying to explore new things but stay somewhere familiar cozy & safe. Even though it looks like bears live there, no wild life disturbed us & weve cooked late @ night. Dan thank you for sharing your piece of the world I wish I could be there everyday! Only thing id change is the showers. I think there should be more & do like an outdoor shower with wooden walls & door and a platform to stand on where water just drains into the earth. I personally love outside showering. Makes u feel so free! Like the pic below...here is a pic from our trip...

For our 1st, "rustic" camping experience, this hit the nail on the head! There was only 2 other families there when we arrived and by the 2nd night, we basically had the park to ourselves with a lot of room for our children to run around and play. Porta potties were dated, but well maintained, and the shower was by far one of best experiences I've ever had for a camping shower (better than some State parks even) almost like a shower/sauna. Depending on where you come from, Google maps, took us over a covered bridge, not a bad thing for a PUP camper, but maybe a challenge to bigger campers. Again, the route Google gave us, made the turn in to the camp a challenge. Easy fix, if you go into Elysburg and take 54 East, it's much easier. Very close to Knoebels, less expensive than other camps in the area. If you are looking to get off the grid, but still have cell service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Picked this campsite because everywhere else was sold out near Knoebels (that I could find on Google) When we called to book we asked for the price for one site, the response was “how many tents do you have?” We had two and were told we had to purchase two sites if we had two tents. Our two tents are rather small and can always fit on one site which is why we’ve always bought one, additionally what if we had 1 four person tent? Would we be required to purchase two sites still if regardless we only plan to use one? The whole thing seemed silly to me. We got the two sites anyway because we’d already planned this vacation and didn’t want to have to reschedule. My partner was additionally upsold over the phone $15 for firewood by the owner that had been sitting out wet and useless when we arrived so we ended up having to buy two 5$ bundles at the gas station five minutes down the road. When we arrived we ended up all using just one of the two sites we had to pay for because we all wanted to hang next to each other, this would’ve been fine if we weren’t located directly behind the porta potty - down wind. The porta potty stench was a nightmare, every day was the battle of “can I hold it until Knoebels or do I HAVE to go in the porta potty?” Because you did not want to have to gas yourself in there. The few times you did go in make sure to bring a partner because surprise theres also no lock on the door either. The porta potty next to us was also (to my knowledge) the only toilet for the entire campgrounds. To top it all off at the end of the night the owners dog wandered into our campsite by itself around 10 pm and left us a nice “present” right next to our tent. Would not recommend and will...

If you are looking for somewhere clean, quiet and close to Knoebels I highly recommend Mossy Point. Called at almost 9 PM on a Monday hoping to just get a site to sleep at for the night and was surprised with a lovely, accommodating camping experience. The owner, Dan, met me at the entrance and had me follow him. Dan was so kind as to set me up at the little "tiki bar" pavilion as there was a thunderstorm coming and he even helped me set up camp. I was not expecting to have lights or electricity either but the pavilion had an outlet and cozy rainbow lights. Dan also encouraged me to pull my car right up to the pavilion for ease of access. He seemed to be a very hospitable person. Now for the camping itself, I was also pleasantly surprised. I stayed completely dry in the pavilion and it was actually a real fun place to sleep. There was a scenic vista that overlooked Knoebels right by my site. The porta potties were incredibly clean; I'm talking unused. Incredible. It was mostly quiet minus construction on a nearby road but the birdsong was plentiful. There is a shower which I was expecting to be lukewarm due to the thermometer on the barrel outside saying 80° but the water was hot for the whole ~10 minutes I was in there. There seemed to be no one else at the campground, though a few campers are parked there- maybe seasonal campers? All in all, I would recommend staying here if you want somewhere quiet, clean and pretty to stay. There are ample trees for hammockers and good flat spots for tents. My site had a water spigot and it appeared the other sites all did too.
