I needed to book a room as soon as possible for my brother's viewing. He had passed suddenly. I was having a hard time getting hold of places closer to where I had to drive. Sleepy hollow was a half hour out of my way but I booked it not knowing if I would find a place to stay. Right after I booked it, another bed and breakfast returned my call. They were on my way and 5 minutes from where my brother's viewing was being held. I went to call the other B&B, Sleepy Hollow, so I can cancel and they told me I'll be charged $30. I let them know I wasn't aware of a cancellation fee as I never ran into this before and I was in a hurry to reserve a room. I explained my brother passed suddenly but they still charged me without any concern or understanding my situation. They can have their $30 for the minutes I had a reservation. What they don't have is any concern or empathy towards others. I will never forget how cold they were, given my situation. So beware before reserving with them. My husband and I have stayed at several B&B's, had to cancel at times due to changes, but have never encountered someone who charged fees cancelling, especially cancelling within minutes of reservation. They simply said "it's on our website". They really should be ashamed for taking advantage of people who aren't thinking about fees that aren't there unless you look for them. People who are desperate for a place they need at a time they are upset. It says a lot about someone who just takes from others without any thought about what they may be...
Read moreSo happy I found this B&B during Father's Day weekend. Both Victoria and Faron were wonderful hosts. I was in communication with Victoria even before our arrival, and she responded promptly. I loved the personal touch, I received a welcome text 2 days, asked for any dietary restrictions for breakfast. They really made you feel like family. They shared the history of the Inn, grounds, and Marty the "Stud Muffin" rooster. Definitely check in between the times listed. It just helps you as a guest to get to know the lay of the land. ||We were only there for one night, and our bedroom had all the amenities that you needed (toiletries, hair dryer), and we also had a mini fridge in our room. I didn't post all the food photos, but everything was delicious (coffee, juice, fruits, cream of wheat, and a full plate of breakfast food) and served hot.||Can't wait till we have another opportunity to...
Read moreMy wife, my 2 year old daughter and myself stayed at SHB&B this past Monday and Tuesday night. We were celebrating our daughter's 2nd birthday by taking her to Knoebels and to other near-by attractions. Jim and Kareena are incredibly friendly and polite. Jim was there to greet us as we arrived and even asked to help carry our bags. They were both very knowledgeable of the area and offered some insight on things to see and do in case of inclement weather. We were greeted in the morning with a delicious warm breakfast and light conversation. The room was spacious enough as we were spending time there just to pretty much relax in the evening and sleep. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and our daughter loved the tub. Thank you for a wonderful stay as we will surely be back! Rob,...
