I hate to give such a review, but I have to be honest.
In my capacity of driving the Amish I travel all over the country and stay in dozens of hotels, oftentimes the Super 8.
The clerks were friendly and professional. The lobby and rooms were clean, the bed comfortable.
Most rooms are listed at $60 to $70 a night which is within range for a hotel of this quality.
We (my group of Amish) paid $170 for an average room. They jacked up the prices. All of us were quite unhappy about it, and felt cheated.
If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a room I expect there to be a nice shower head, endless hot water, a bathtub that does not squeak every time I move. I expect the drain in the sink to be fixed, and at least have little coffee maker in the room as are in most Super 8's.
It was not a do not disturb sign that I could hang on the door.
The morning I checked out I asked the lady at the front desk if I could stay till noon. She told me I could. She made note of it.
I needed to sleep before the long drive home. Nobody read the memo because three separate times while I was sleeping I heard a knock on the door then the door opened. Luckily I had used the latch so it...
Read moreI booked my room almost a month in advance and specifically requested a NON-SMOKING room. Upon arrival, I was told the room I had reserved was a smokers room. I said that there must have been some mistake. The person at the front desk said there was nothing they could do for me because the hotel was at full capacity. They tried to chemically bathe the room and it made everything worse. I asked if I could just get a refund and go somewhere else and was told there was no guarantee of me getting my money back. I was left with no alternative but to spend the night in a smoke-filled room. Upon waking up the next day I made the front desk manager aware of my situation and she also was of no help. I am going to be pursuing this to the corporate level because the hotel staff was of no help whatsoever to provide me with any solution to my situation. The two people I worked with at the hotel had no desire to help me and were not empowered to do...
Read moreWe went to a family reunion in Michigan and after that, we were driving right by Rantoul Illinois and wanted to stop there to see the now decommissioned Chanute AFB where I went to tech school in the USAF in 1971 and again in 1977 so we booked the Super 8 Motel. The check in was very easy, the clerk was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got room number 109 which was easy to get to like we asked for in our booking. The room was very clean and fresh smelling. The only minor complaint was the bed was firmer than our liking but that's to be expected as you can't order different firmness levels. We missed the free breakfast because I forgot to set my phone alarm and woke up after breakfast was over. It's far enough the freeway to where you don't hear the traffic and in a quite location. We would definitely stay...
