Rented cabin 3 for two nights as a birthday present for my wife. Once we arrived for check in I found my one and only direct interaction with the owners to be a tad off putting. Check in was listed as 4pm, we arrived around 4:15 and was told that she was just about to leave the office. To me, if you are expecting a check in it would be professional to be ready and in office for them. If you tell customers to arrive after 4 for check in, I’d expect to find the location staffed. Otherwise, our only exposure to the owners were them annoyingly driving an extremely loud side by side past the cabin all day. Once we had our keys we went to our cabin. This is unfortunately where our trip came to a true disappointing experience. The screen door to the cabin did not latch, and could only be secured by the bolt on it, which was extremely difficult to use. Once inside we found our next surprise, the bathroom. Once we opened the shower we found the most appalling bathtub I have ever seen in a room I’ve rented. The walls were covered in horribly cracked plastic and black mold covered sealing. During our stay we did not use the shower as a result. After settling in we went to cook diner and found a cabinet of dirty dishes. We cleaned dishes to use and went to bed. On our way to sleep we were greeted with two other unpleasant surprises. Once the fan on the fireplace kicks on, it produces the most horrible sound, a snip of which is added in the video. This noise kept us up for most the night. The other surprise was the lights they trim the cabins with. Each cabin has bright rope lights along the edge of the roof. While pretty from the office view, the light shines straight through the windows keeping you up. The curtains in the main room are so thin that even closed you can see clearly through, and the bed room ones do provide “privacy” but don’t stop light. I’m sad to have to quote privacy, as there is none in this cabin. The bed is fully visible from the front door windows as there is no door to the bedroom. Although on the subject of the bed, I’ve also never been required to the housekeeping duties and strip the bed after use. VERY strange to me that I was told I had to do this before leaving. I’m also a bit sad as the website listed all these great things to do here and once on the property we were provided no information on how or where to do any of it, and found a lot of the mentioned businesses to be closed during our stay. Given the high nightly rates of this cabin I am beyond disappointed with how my gift turned out. I truly regret taking my wife here for her birthday. I hope the owners take this criticism to heart and work on fixing these issues. This location has so...
Read morePerfect dog-friendly cabins, roomy and comfortable with typical mountain amenities. Fireplace, little deck, gas grill, full kitchen. Website description is exactly right for each cabin. They are close together, but it is a VERY quiet area. We had foggy weather for our Fall Getaway, but it was beautiful anyway. We saw a cow moose and her calf! The area offers beautiful drives, lots of hiking, lakes, and quaint little bars and stores.||Don't let the "rule-filled" website scare you, proprietors are locals with a bit of "protectiveness" about their property, as evidenced by some defensive language in their review responses (a HUGE no-no in online reputation management!) We even had a little drink at the Trout Tavern on property. It is really a cute and very comfortable place to getaway with your pups and explore the area.||BONUS: I left clothes in my cabin, and Barb (or Rob?) shipped them right to me! I was very grateful for that wonderful show of...
Read moreWe recently spent Labor Day Weekend @ Marrs Cabin #4 and our extended family rented cabin # 5 . Our family loved the settings and the accommodations as both cabins were fresh and clean for our stay. Our hosts Rich and Kerrie (Owners) were gracious, warm and accommodating to our requests. The view from our room and front porch overlooking Ramona Lake was serene and beautiful each morning with our coffee. Their location is walking distance to Red Feather village and the shops located on main street. We completely enjoyed the time spent there and agreed that this should be at a minimum a yearly event, however we plan to make it back before then. Also the "Tavern" which is adjacent to the cabins has great food, live music on Saturday and a host of games with indoor and outdoor seating which Rich and Kerrie also own. Its a great setting and you can park your car and walk to town and enjoy nightly dinners...
