Riverbend Heritage Lodge — Hotel in Red Oak

My family of 5 stayed at Riverbend Heritage Lodge in Red Oak, IA, for 3 nights in mid-September. We stayed in guest house number 7, which has a king bedroom, queen bedroom, full bathroom, living area, kitchen, dining area, and washer/dryer.

Every detail in this place creates the most cozy and inviting atmosphere, and it is completely family friendly. The kitchen had all the cookware you'd need and a fully stocked coffee bar - not just coffee pods, but flavor syrups, sugar packets, hot chocolate mix, and apple cider as well. They had a box of games in the living area, and a TV in every room. Wi-fi worked seamlessly. The dining room table was HUGE, and could accommodate a group of at least 12 people. The beds were comfortable with fresh sheets and plenty of pillows. The bathroom was clean and stocked with the fluffiest towels.

The Lodge itself offers a beautiful exterior with a fire pit by a small water feature pond. They have a new playset and tiny log cabin house for kids to play on outside and several yard games and activities available as well.

The staff were easy to work with from booking to check-in and check-out. Paige met us for check-in when we arrived, and she even offered to help us with our luggage.

The location is so conveniently located, just outside of Red Oak and a few minutes from grocery stores and restaurants. But it's just far enough out to still feel like a private getaway.

It is truly a home away from home on such a beautiful property, and we can't wait...

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this amazing cabin for a full week. Welcoming, immaculate and extremely comfortable are the first things that come to mind. We were greeted with such warmth that we instantly felt at ease. Due to the pandemic my husband had not seen his family in over 3 years. The thing that really stuck with us was the attention to detail and how Darcy seemed to thrive on seeing family be able to connect, relax and enjoy each other. The mornings gathered on the porch for coffee and evenings around the fire pit or just gathering and laughing in the large family room were priceless. This place is a gem, they have truly created an inviting atmosphere that promotes relaxation and connection and really quiets the soul. My fiance and I stayed here as part of a work trip, and I can say without a doubt that it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We travel a lot as part of our job, and the level of service, as well as the sheer commitment the staff has to ensuring that your stay is a quality one is unmatched. The lodge itself is incredible, it's close to every major store and restaurant in Red Oak, and every single aspect of the property dwarfs that of major hotel chains. Darcy, Paige, and Jeff were extremely kind and welcoming, and every single day, my fiance and I came back to the lodge with a welcoming smile and peaceful amenities. Not only would I recommend that you stay here, but we are both heading back to the lodge in a few weeks just to enjoy it a little bit more.
