All the arrangements were done by phone, I only met the owner Sean when he was outside working on the landscaping. You don't check in or check out with the owners. The small cabins are really for 2 people. There is a bed (queen), shower, toilet and the sink is in the bedroom; the frontroom is a couch with built in cabinets where they have mounted the TV and modem for the WIFI. There is a dorm size refrigerator and a microwave. That's it; this is not a hotel room, so plan ahead. I think the small cabin would not accommodate a family of 4 comfortably, so consider the chalet or the lodge if you are more than 2 people.||||We were 2 couples traveling so we took 2 small cabins side by side. We were traveling with our Westfalia camper van so we unpacked our camping kitchen and set up on the deck which worked out great. This stay turned more into "glamping". The cabins were clean and the linens and sheets were acceptable. The grounds were well kept and the views were WONDERFUL. On the ranch, this was the best place to be; you are between the golf course and the gas station/grocery store. There is a large grassy area for walking your dogs, playing frisbee or putting out a towel for soaking up the sun. Aside from the view east towards Smith Rocks, it was quite and serene. Perfect for putting up your feet and reading a book or resting.||||You can go down Chinook Rd north to the end and there is a trail head to the Otter Bench Trail which we took, about 4 miles RT up the canyon with some breath taking views of the Crooked River and the geology of the canyon. The hike is a gradual slope up and could be done by people in fair shape. ||||Golfing is also available, and it was a good course and I would recommend going early in the morning as there is little shade later in the day. Besides, on the 5th hole you might spy a golden eagle floating over the canyon, or you can watch the rockchucks (it's like a woodchuck) scurrying around the golf course.||||DOWNSIDES: These are minor, but notable: The garbage area is not well marked and only up by the chalet next to their backdoor and it's hard to determine if there is recycling or not as the cans are not marked; it's a tight squeeze to pull in and out of the parking spots for the small cabins so be patient with making your turns; the WIFI went down the first day we were there and it never came up, even after notifying the owners -- however you have great bars for the cell service so if you need your phone you can use it. There were no passes for the pool which is at the club house (you need to drive it's too far to walk), but we were told to tell the club house to call the owners and they would straighten that out.||||I would stay here again and I do recommend it as a base of operations to explore the ranch and...

Stayed in cabin #4. Check in/arrival was interesting to say the least. Called because after months prior to booking I still hadn’t received any information about access to the cabin. I was told I’d get the door code 2 hours before check in via email. Which I did. Just strange because we had spent the nights prior camping with no cell service and had no idea if there was service out there to access email to get that information. Had also “reserved” a fire pit when I made the original reservation. I could have overlooked this entire portion of the booking, but when we arrived the fire pits were all covered and had chairs and weed whackers stacked on top. The notes in the cabin stated you had to get ahold of the manager for the code to unlock then purchase firewood directly from them or else there would be a $150 fine. Needless to say we did not use the fire pit which we were really looking forward to. Cabin was on the far end and had a nice view. Would be the more private out of the 4. The parking for this one is TIGHT. If you have anything larger than a compact/medium size car you probably want to find other means of parking. The interior was very clean, but more like a tiny house than cabin. I suppose it’s comparable to a hotel room than an actual cabin. The following morning someone was knocking on our door to clean the place well before check out. She politely apologized and left when I answered the door. There’s also instructions on the wall to txt them when you are leaving. Overall, the property was clean and well kept, but it’s location being a car drive to do anything and it’s motel like feel wouldn’t likely bring me back. I really wish check in/out was easier with less rules and booking was more upfront about well… everything. Also didn’t have hot water in the morning for my shower. I assume because every other rental was trying to...

My family and I were in a severe car accident on our way to Crooked cabins. For whatever reason in the ambulance I decided to be courteous and called Meghan (the manager there) to inform her that we had been in accident and couldn’t stay for the night any longer and I requested a cancellation and refund. Her response was “we don’t do refunds for anything past four days out from your reservation”. I explained to her “I am literally in two ambulances with my family with blood gushing from my face from the glass that shattered into me but I decided to call you to cancel and you can’t give me a refund”. She remained silent on the phone and then agreed to give us a refund. Two days later I called to ask about the refund and she said “I can’t give you a refund because why should I have to pay for your accident”. She even said “I have to pay for my staff and make profit and clean the room for you” I told her we were on our way to your cabins but got into an accident and you literally can’t see how wrong it is to care about your profits over the fact that I didn’t even stay at your hotel and was in severe car accident on vacation when I live in Florida. She continued to disagree and fight with me on the refund so I explained to her once again how inhospitable she was. She then began to laugh on the other line when I said forget it and I will just dispute the charge. She later called and left a voicemail offering 50% refund if I don’t go through with the dispute. I agreed to it and it’s been four months and she is still arguing with me over the refund. In fact she is just dragging it out until I forget about it. She stole $170 from a severely family injured family. I hope that money goes to good use and she can live with a clean conscious. What an unjust and immoral person. IF YOU WANT TO STAY SOMEWHERE WHOS MANAGER IS MONEY...

Awful, smelly, rip-off, worst room ever! Note that this review applies to the 2-person stand-alone cabin #1. Cabins #2-4 appear to be exactly the same. We arrived to the overpowering smell of industrial cleaners and were shocked at how small the cabin is. Even more shocking was that THE TOILET IS IN THE BEDROOM! There is a sliding closet door with no wall above as the divider between the toilet and bedroom. There’s no privacy and no buffer zone from your travelling partner. From there, things kept getting worse: the refrigerator smelled like rotten meat; there’s nowhere to open your suitcase except the bed or loveseat; no side tables by the bed in the tiny room and the person on the far side of the bed has to crawl over the other person to get up; and nowhere to hang up your clothes. Hopefully you won’t need to use the in-wall HVAC unit because it’s as loud as a train! There’s no way to sleep with that thing running. The whole setup reeked of cheapness, from the tiny, paper thin bath towels to the ½ sponge you are given to wash your dishes. By the way, the tiny bathroom sink in the bedroom is where you’ll be washing them. We dared not use any of the dishes after finding a dead moth in the first drinking cup that we pulled out of the cupboard. If you want some coffee, there’s a mason jar with some ancient coffee beans in it. All you have to do is grind them, make some hot water and pour the hot water through a filter into your cup. How convenient! Overall it was probably the worst room I’ve ever stayed in and I felt like we had been deceived about what we were getting. We would never stay there again at any price. You may want to reconsider staying there. You have been warned.

Cute cabin in stunning central Oregon. We stayed in mid-October. Equipped with the basics; mini-fridge, microwave, dishes, flatware, cups, etc. My favorite thing was the electric kettle. I've been thinking about getting one of those, and I absolutely have to have one now! My only complaint was a mild bait-and-switch on the pet policy. When I booked, it stated that pets are not allowed on the BEDDING, which is perfectly reasonable. Our well-behaved dog IS allowed on the furniture at home, so I can expect that she will jump up at least once or twice before we can shoo her down. My plan was to bring her dog bed, as well as our own bedspread to protect their bedding when she did inevitably jump up. HOWEVER... the day before we were to check in, when it was too late to cancel and get a refund, we got an email with this much more detailed pet policy: "Pets are not allowed on furniture (including beds) and there will be a $100 charge if pets are on the beds. Pet fee is $10 per night if you book directly with us AND inform us before you arrive and $25 per night if you don't tell us and we have to charge you after check-in." Obviously, travelers whose dogs are allowed on the furniture, be prepared, especially in wet weather. All their bedding was WHITE. Other than that, me and my dog would stay again, as long as it's not raining.
