After a 6 hr drive, we showed up and they told us they canceled our reservation because “Expedia” gave them the wrong dates. They told us we didn’t check in the date prior 8/29 (before our check-in date 8/30) and they rebooked the room. I showed them our proof of reservation showing the correct date of 8/30 and she shrugged and said “I don’t know what to tell ya.” I asked her why she didn’t contact us before canceling our reservation and she said, “we don’t do that.” Mind you, this was a special trip for my husband’s birthday! The manager also refused to give us a refund until I threatened to call the cops for double dipping- they took money for our reservation- that we NEVER canceled and took money for another reservation making the room unavailable. We had to scramble to find a hotel that costs 3x as much because of the holiday weekend and all they did was say “sorry”. I will NEVER book Smith Rock Resort again due to lack of accountability and respect from the owner - which is also evident in her responses to these reviews.

-I'd also like to mention that I spoke with Expedia about this instance and here is what I was told "I understand. However, sending wrong dates to their system is not possible because once you have submit your booking with us it will sync on their system automatically. And also, we do not change or cancel any reservation without...

We absolutely loved this place. We booked last minute over a weekend in July and were truly very pleased with the place. Yes it's dated, but in an awesome hot tub time machine kind of way. The rooms were super clean, and had updated flat screen TVS. The mattress was firm, but quite comfortable. A/C worked like a charm, and it was quiet and pleasant. The wooden ceiling and octagon shaped rooms are a very fun unique experience. There are several old reviews from perhaps years back from folks who just might be kind of...Jerky. If you like the outdoors, beauty, history, vintage fun type hotels that are well maintained AND a little adventure, then this is the place for you. The views are absolutely beautiful, perched on the edge of a canyon that one could consider a mini Grand Canyon. There's a trail right from the property that you can take to the bottom of the canyon to enjoy a beautiful river. We walked the trail in the early evening and immensely enjoyed nature's art, the Canyon's walls painted with the tangerine light of the setting sun. Then we sat on the deck outside our room and enjoyed a cold and delicious beverage. Also, is now dog friendly with a modest deg deposit required per night. Get your friends, both furry and human,...

My family and I have stayed at this unique location 3 times for multiple days. The prices fluctuate from winter rates to spring/ summer (peak) rates, which are normal.Generally regular discounts are accepted and I have negotiated for better rates if it was multiple days and not at summer peak. I have felt a sense of worth for the money spent each time. As far as the rooms go if you want to be spread out a little & spending a little more is in the budget, I recommend the full suite which is very accommodating with more amenities & the ones facing the fairway and driving Range were cool.. The rooms have been clean, well kept & and are on par with industry standards along with friendly staff, it has always been a pleasant experience. Of course, the star of the show, unless you're a golfer ,🏌️‍♀️ 🏌️‍♂️ is the hiking trails & views. This part of Central Oregon, especially, of course, Crooked River Ranch has so much to offer, it is a must see area if you are traveling or visiting Oregon. *If you read this review, I encourage you and yours to come visit the area & experience the natural Splendor & Wonderment this photogenic area offers. Awe is what I feel every time I go about the area & it seems I always find something new...

We loved this place and will forever cherish the memories we made here!! Smith Rock Resort is stunning and absolutely beautiful. It was perfect for our little summer family vacation. The canyon views are mesmerizing. The small wooden yurt cabins are unique and the decor was giving us western retro vibes. My kind of style ;) The outdoor deck was great for catching some sun or just relaxing, and the cabin stayed cool during peak heat times (the blackout curtains helped too). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Jumping in the pool after a long hike was exactly what we needed, and I loved the food truck option! Great place for relaxing, stargazing, birding, and catching cute little quails and bunnies scurry around. Nearby are great places to hike such as Smith Rock, Steelhead Falls, and on the property itself. If I had the time I would have have stayed longer!!! And If I had a buddy to golf with, this would have been a great golfing spot :) Will definitely come back next time we visit Oregon. Thank you!!

I wanted to stay close to Smith Rock and this resort was about twenty minutes away. The room is one half of a Yurt and has two large glass sliding windows that open to deck. You will find a king bed with a dresser on each side with three drawers and three lamps above the bed on the wall. A clock radio was on one dresser, but there were no USB Ports or a place to plug in your electronic devices. A microwave oven, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker and another dresser with two drawers were by the front door. A TV with cable was above a table with two chairs and free Wi-Fi. The room had a strong industrial smell to it. (Like new carpet smell) The deck outside needs to be repainted and the handle on shower was worn and needs to be replaced. You can hear the guests of the other side of the Yurt and can be noisy if they have kids. The resort is located on the Crooked River Ranch and pool passes are available to guests. A resort with a good location to Smith Rock, but in need of some renovations.
