Avoid at all cost This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. Ive stayed in some budget hotel but this one made it to the top of run down hotels despite paying a good price for the rooms . The photos uploaded by the owner are misleading and nowhere close to reality. We booked 3 rooms. These turned out to be - Sherman, White Oak and Ponderosa. It is unfortunate to say that all we were disappointed with all three rooms. All three rooms seemed shabby and neglected, with a strong damp, mouldy smell that hit us as soon as we stepped in. Cleanliness was far below acceptable standards, and the overall atmosphere felt unhealthy and uncomfortable. We checked in late after a long travel day in the national park (which is not at all unusual) . The approach road was pitch dark and bumpy. Given the time we were forced to spend the night at the wrecked hotel. There was leftover perishable food from previous guests ( see photos uploaded by me) was adding to the foul smell. The most shocking thing was that when I called the next day the person which I presume was the owner of the place had the audacity to tell me that they do purposely leave left over food in the fridge so that the next guest may enjoy it ! WOW ! I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere until serious improvements are made.

BEWARE: I was scammed by Anna. We were told the rate would be $120 for one night and I was charged $240. Anna claimed there was a hidden pet fee of $100. This was not disclosed upon making our reservation and other online sources say their pet fee is $15. I feel scammed and when I called to talk to them, Anna was very rude to me and told me it was a privilege to travel with my pet. There is a motel 6 within 30 minutes from this hotel with comparable pricing and a FREE pet stay. I recommend avoiding this place at all cost. The property is small and has a terrible dirt road to get onto it. The room was not what we expected. It was a hallway of a room because they have sectioned off a large barn into several different "rooms" creating an odd long shape with little room to walk around in the room. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was not super clean. For $240, I would expect a lot more! I am actually disgusted with the people who run this establishment.

Thank you Bogdan. Saturday 9pm, no reservation he got me room with 2 beds, TV, A/C and modern shower. This place is like a ranch. Reminded me my child hood. Animals and wild life around. Absolutely safe. Room was clean. With coffee machine and all kind of dishes, glasses and silverware. TV, WiFi… House was very easy to find. We slept well. Thank you. I definitely will stop by again Bogdan is extremely helpful. Thank you PS liberals and complainers might want choose to drive to corporate hotels miles away. We absolutely loved stay here.

This was truly an awful experience. If you want the most remote, difficult to get to place to stay in the area, this is it! The scenery around here is beautiful and that is its one redeeming quality.

The room we stayed in could hardly be considered a hotel. More like a slumlord airbnb. As far as we can tell, it was a house divided into two rooms. The main place, room A had a beautiful front porch, where we stayed, room B, had a small set of stairs leading up to the entrance. The whole area was covered in live bugs, mostly moths and mosquitoes but also ants and other flying insects were present.

As soon as you walk in, you have two squeeze by a huge double sink because the entrance is through the bathroom! After you walk past the toilet and shower, you get to the actual room.

The room had a window A/C unit and heater, a microwave, mini fridge, tv, and coffee maker. The closets had glue traps and droppings, the floor was dirty and the whole place felt a bit lopsided and creaky. For furniture there was a table and chairs, and tv stand, a queen sized bed and little tables for night stands. It was dirty and stale but thankfully the AC and heater worked great.

What didn’t work was the WiFi there was a router but it flashed green and the owner just said “use the other one” it worked about half the time but was for the main house and was too far away to be reliable. We used hotspots on our phones (which barely worked out here). We didn’t touch the tv.

The main event though, the one that could redeem a million other issues is the bed. Unfortunately this bed was just awful. The whole thing was tilted at an angle causing the person sleeping on that side to roll towards the middle, super creaky and hard, the comforter smelled and we had a suspicion it had not been washed. And while you sleep mosquitoes dine upon your blood as a little nighttime snack.

The bugs were outrageous to me. I literally bought bug spray and mosquito repellent to try and stay sane.

The shower was disgusting and barely worked. The mechanism to turn it on required a shocking amount of strength and pulling in a way that made no sense to us, also the hot water is on when the arrow points to cold and vice-versa.

I did not enjoy the stay and the hosts did not make it comfortable. They should consider renovating this place to make it more livable. Seal up the holes and cracks, fix the shower, and get a new bed and frame.

If you choose to stay here, I hope it’s improved...

  • BEWARE - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS * Review Timing - July 2025 Thanks to St Anna's House - our vacation experience was entirely ruined. I booked 3 rooms for a group of 6 via Booking.com Deluxe Room Deluxe Queen Room King Room with Mountain Views Upon checking into the property (late at night) we found Approach road to the property is bumpy and not well marked. Due to the dim lighting - it is really hard to find the rooms. There is no front desk. It is like a barn with sectioned off rooms. Rooms are nothing like they are advertised on travel websites. Total smoke and mirrors !! Rooms were dusty, dingy, smell and did not seem like have been cleaned thoroughly for a while. We also found left over food in the fridge of one of the rooms. Rooms were missing basic amenities - such as body wash and hair-dryers Air Conditioning was not working , which affected our sleep quality Shower did not have running warm water : either it was too hot OR too cold , making it impossible to shower

We tried calling the number provided - but got no response Next morning - when we finally managed to get in touch with Anna ; she did try to resolve the issues by sending over body wash and hair-dryer ... it was basically a point of no-return by then.

We checked-out of the property in the morning (a full day early) and made alternate arrangements as spending any more time at this dump was only taking time away from our planned itinerary for the day.

In summary I will say this ; while I am all for supporting small family run businesses .. it does not mean I will look the other way when I am paying good money for rooms - that are not clean and serviced and don't have basic amenities such as clean sheets , towels and toiletries.

I hope my post deters people from coming here and experiencing the disappointment and frustration my family...
