Loon Lake itself is great, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. The yurts are good, clean and a great option for those who don’t want to tent camp. They do not have internal bathrooms you will need to bring stuff for portapotties, and they do not have laundry options. That is expected with tent camping, but some haven’t used yurts before. The rental house needs some upkeep, namely the deck needs to be replaced and the dock electricity outlet is broken so you’ll want extension chords. There also aren’t laundry on site in the house, so be prepared for that. It does have wifi and great showers, the house otherwise has great amenities, private dock, and is in a fantastic location. The lake is a fantastic place to vacation with family, to bring a boat, go to the little sand beach, camp, and just get away from everything. There’s no service, which means you really are just nice and secluded.

We just left from a Eugene hotel on Monday, and the AQI said the smoke was better at Reedsport near Loon Lake, where we had made reservations a few months in advance. We went into the lodge to check in with the front desk. She let us check in early which is cool. She was kind enough but when we asked about wildfires and smoke we were given the lamest excuses and which we later learned were lied to by the staff "Oh I haven't heard of any fires near us. This is smoke from Washington blowing towards us. I mean I don't think we have anything to worry about. I don't even smell smoke! It just looks overcast to me." This absolutely stunned me because there was bits of ash falling from the sky and it had smelled like smoke all the way there. I realized very quickly this place was about money and not a care for its customers. But I never thought that they cared so much about money that they would lie to their customers. We asked about fire restrictions which we expected because it was extreme fire danger. She said "You can have charcoal or propane but no campfires or anything that sparks. Were not as strict as those guys across from us." I still have no clue what guys are across from them. We don't want to start any fires so while we were bummed out but we understand how important it is to follow direction especially with safety. We unloaded at the cabin and walked around the whole area. We were there for 2 hours. The lodge was okay everything is closed due to Covid19 so be sure to enjoy camping and swimming and boat rentals. Anything remotely resorty is closed or out of order. The swimming area is about 20×30 ft, where the beach meets the dock is not suitable for swimming. It was filled with pond scum, water lilies, branches covered in green algea, and fish hooks. It doesn't look like it had been cleared for this summer season. The beach on the other side of the boat ramp looked great. The cabin we rented was more well stocked then we thought. Glasses, cups, plates, utensil, some pots and pans (you might need to bring a few extra), TV, AC worked, good sized small fridge, hot water worked. The cabin was clean, beds made well, bathrooms are clean and stocked with mini soaps and a few towels. Very cool! I was pleasantly surprised at the log furniture and unique set up for the bunk beds. The downside..the staff lied. We were trying to set up wifi and the smoke and ash became increasingly worse by the minute. Then we noticed these two male workers acting strange. One in the boat rental shack and a guy with a dog. Sometimes people can be a bit rough but they were acting suspicious and nervous. Constantly looking at the treeline and the other patrons. Finally I heard one of them say "Well I better go up and check if were being evacuated or not. If so I gotta get home first. Then I'll come back." I was really shocked. I asked the patrons if they knew of any evacuation orders and none knew until we were able to use our satellite connection. There was a huge wildfire that was 30 miles from us and it was 0٪ uncontained! So not only did the staff lie about wildfire knowledge they also knew there would be a possible evacuation. We knew we couldn't stay. We packed up our stuff. Our 2 small children. Went up front and knew we wouldn't get all our money back. I realized really quick what a scam this was. They were taking reservations but knew and told the patrons on the phone that if people had to leave because they felt unsafe or had health issues with the smoke they would still charge them a one night fee because the customer didn't give them advanced notice! While I understand that the Camp have no control over weather or fires its clear they used the fire to their advantage. A way to take customer's money knowing they wouldn't stay in those horrible conditions and still charge them. We were blessed they only charged us one night stay. Greed...

What started off as an exciting weekend, it quickly turned bad. I rented a cabin for my family to stay in. I was glad to hear that the cabins had air condition so I brought my elderly mother so she can enjoy the weekend with us. We checked in around 5:40 and headed to the cabin. It was a nice set up, the space was as expected. But the air conditioner didn't work, and it was a sauna inside! I walked around our site and found a water line was leaking on the side of the cabin and the entire ground was completely saturated and it was a muddy mess around the picnic table and fire pit. I went back up to the office, but they close at 6! There was a number to call but no cell service. So, we were stuck to deal with these issues till morning. The next morning i went to the office and they were aware of both the air conditioners and leaky water pipe and there was nothing they could do about it. The water leak can't be fixed till the summer season was over. They could have offered a discount! We determined to enjoy ourselves. The beach area is very small. Other campers had claimed their spot with shade tents and left it there all weekend. So, you really couldn't enjoy it. We spent our second day on the lake which was great. The water was refreshing in the hot day and the views were beautiful. We decided to tie our boat to the dock, get a quick bite to eat and get back on the lake. But the kid working the dock cut the rope and the boat drifted away! When asked why cause were coming right back. He yelled and said the docks are for rental boats. This being my first time here, I wasn't aware of that. I told him that he could have said something when he saw us leave it there, but he didn't. This kid was extremely rude, yelled and caused a big scene. He told me if i didn't like it, to take it up with management. But of course, the office was closed because it was after 6 and really what good would that have done. Another thing that surprised me was the way the staff was talking about their guests. While in the store a guest came in and mentioned that the tv didn't work. The staff blew him off similar to my issues and the guest left upset. After he did the office staff spoke very badly of him and said only overweight people complain about a tv not working. It was shocking to hear them speak so badly about guests in front of other guests! People pay to stay here and to enjoy all the amenities. I was very disappointed with the management of this place. From the condition of my rental, lack of attention to maintenance and the don't give a sh*t attitude of the staff. As beautiful as the location is, I will...

So far, it was a good experience. I have a big family and we always go on family camp in Washington where we reside, I found this similar cabbing campground and decided to give it a try going with my parents to investigate if all of my family should visit latter, even though it's six hours of driving from our hometown. There are some pros and cons I have highlighted for myself. Pros: gorgeous location, beautiful lake, mountains, and nature nice service, we didn't really have had any special requests or concerns cleaned cabin, enough space, towels, soap, dish soap, shower accessories multiple types of rentals - cabins, yurts, smaller cabins, big family cabin, RV spaces, all have their own fireplace, table and bench, and grill very close to the lake, one minute walk to cross the road there is enough of large and small dishes and glasses, a lots of grill supplies, utensils, coffee machine, toaster, spacious fridge, and microwave Heating - we booked for the mid-May which is still kind of chill this year, it was pretty cold at night and sometimes during the day, but there is a heating system that saved us Pets allowed for additional fee

Cones: not much to do - besides fishing dock and boat rental, there is no kids playground or hiking trails, swimming is possible but only for good weather which we didn't have since it's the beginning of the season. There are some hiking trails around but those are quite abandoned and mostly closed. have to pay for wi-fi separately - when arrived, we had to go online by the special link that pops up on your phone when you try to connect to Wi-Fi and have to set up an account, then enter so much information, then pay separately after paying for cabin rental (1 day - about 3$, 3 days - about 5$, and 7 days around 10$): Oh yes, if you have multiple devises you will need to pay for all of them separately, it's not like you pay for one connection to all of the devises you have, and yes I did tried my best to make it work for both my phone and tablet. we rented cabin which comes with some utensils and cookware, but unfortunately there was very little cookware to use, just few small pots, one small skillet, and a few salad dishes, only two mugs for a 4-people cabin; no cutting boards, only few knives. I am assuming people use take-out, cooking everything off the grill, or bring staff themselves. Absolutely fine for a few days, but if camping for a week or so, I'd bring own supplies. If need to go to the store, it's a bit of a driving back and forth since the closest one in about 30min away, the office store doesn't have much since there is not many...
