Wanted to stay longer! We were there 5/4/235/7/23. Sandy is amazing. So positive, so caring, so attentive! Jack and Jake were also attentive and any time we walked or drove by the office, they were there for a chat or a wave.
Full disclosure, we arrived about 7:30pm Thurs eve. Sandy was right there to inform us that unfortunately, their water pump wasn’t working. She had tried to reach us but we were out of cell service while traveling. It’s a good thing, because this place is a GEM! She had already arranged for a cabin on the same lake at a different resort, Black Beach. The owner of Black Beach, Eric, was super accommodating. Their cabins are amazing too!! Sandy did not charge us for Thurs night, and the cabin at Black Beach was taken care of for us, at no charge. By Fri morning, they had the water up and flowing again. They all said they have never experienced that in the 30 years they’ve owned it. Sandy and Jackhere’s hoping it doesn’t happen again for another 30 years!
Back to the rest of the story…
Arrived Fri, storms expected all weekend, and lots of rain. That doesn’t scare me or my husband much. Arrived to the cutest little rustic cabin, #10 on the hill, with beautiful views of the lake right in front of us as we walked in. Beautifully manicured resort, wildlife galore. If a bird watcher, it’s amazing. To the right of the front porch, yes a porch, is a short trail to the dock for fishing….or whatever. Next time we may bring a small boat! The docks have boat slips. The cabin and the dock felt very private.
The beds are comfy. A bit confused as to why we must bring own bedding and towels as I’ve never experienced that before but, it was minor compared to all the benefits we received. My husband and I had the absolutely best time just hanging out, fishing on and off, exploring the area.
Lastly, and certainly, most importantly, it is not “service” you receive, but you are a family from the moment you meet them.
We will be back, my husband is booking again...
When you stay here your family and very much treated like family. The owners and staff are very accommodating and go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. Out of all the guests here this past weekend 6/17-6/19, we were the only ones there I think who were a first timer. Everyone else there was on a yearly tradition. That right there should tell you everything you need to know about this place and how wonderful it is.
We stayed in Cabin 7. It was perfect size for our family and the bed was comfortable. This cabin is centrally located in the resort and has a great view of the lake from the front porch.
The kids were able to get fishing poles from the general store on site and spent almost 8 hours fishing off their 3 docks. There's a reason why they call it Fisherman's Cove because everyone was catching fish.
The snack shack has a wide variety of food to choose from and everything we ate was delicious. It even has an espresso machine which is a life saver for coasties like us who have a Starbucks on every corner at home who depend on coffee in the morning. Also a side note is if you don't bring your own food, the nearest restaurant is over 10 miles away and has very limited hours. No other resort on the lake has a snack shack like this either that I was able to find.
Just like everyone else we met this weekend, we will be back to stay again & again at Fisherman's...
Read moreWow! What a beautiful resort! Spent 7 nights so we could have our summer vacation with my wife’s brother and family and we couldn’t have been happier! We did an RV spot right next to our daughter and her family and we were literally steps from the lake. So beautiful to look out our RV and see the beautiful lake. Everyone that works there is so nice from Janice who takes care of booking to Jack and Sandy who own the resort to their nephew who takes care of maintenance and getting boats ready, etc. But by far the funniest, friendliest person was the lady taking orders at the restaurant. She had us in stitches laughing at her humor! Did you hear me? Yes! A restaurant at a lakeside fishing resort that is so remote. People come from all over the area just to eat there. I have to say they have great food and not once were we unhappy with our food. Beautiful flowers line the driveway leading into the resort and every cabin and building has these amazing beautiful flowers everywhere! Sandy grows them in her greenhouse. Everything you need is there except for laundry facilities. There was a huge family takeover of all the cabins but they were so friendly and invited us all to watch movies on their large outdoor movie screen. Definitely can’t wait to go back next year. In fact, we booked it while...
