We were planning to spend 3 nights which included Xmas there, had everything planned to make new traditions for the holiday season, brought a turkey to cook with all the trimmings, drove almost 3 hrs.on Fri. 12/22 to arrive at the cabin when it had already been dark.We had never been to Mansfield or Wellsboro,so we trusted what Shelly Smith was telling me on FB & pictures she had shared with me telling me about the “spectacular 140 acre farm & rolling meadows views” which must have been a figment of someone’s imagination! Because we never saw any of that at the cabin what so EVER!! So we entered the cabin to an overwhelming odor of heating fuel.. At first we thought, well maybe the pilots were just lit on the 2 heaters before we arrived that were heating the cabin & it should dissipate, but throughout the night the odor continued just as strong which was absolutely sickening & caused me to suffer from a migraine. I took a shower, come to find out the water was leaking all over the floor because the door isn’t sealed properly. Mold could be seen & water damage where the water has been flowing through to the first floor onto the stove. First thing Saturday morning we decided to have some coffee & a bite to eat, when we realized the coffee pot was so(Filthy)that we had to scrub it clean before we could use it to make a pot of coffe!! We decided that the cabin was nothing like was described to us,we were lied to, & the pics were all angled so you couldn’t see A trashy/Mobile Home Trailer,A dilapidated house,A horse barn &other out buildings, horse trailer & A very busy road All within a few 100’ of the cabin (None of which is or has been mentioned AT ALL on FB/or anywhere) plus horrible gas/fuel odor,so I contacted the owner to let her know we were packing up & leaving. Shelly showed up & pleaded for us to stay,or to come back at another time. We said that even though we were told Friday night was free of charge, we thought it would be only fair if we paid for the 1 night & were given a refund for 2 nights. Shelly said that she was in a pickle because she paid her mortgage with the money we paid her with for the cabin,& that’s why it was such a miricle that we booked the cabin when we did.We explained that we did not wish to come back at another time & asked if we could make some type of payment arrangement out with her? Shelly said yes she could do that, & expressed that she was worried about not getting a 5 star rating online. We now come home to find out that Shelly charged $749.50?? When the amount that I was told, which I have in our messages back & forth that I would be charged was $675.00 (Big Difference) When I questioned this additional cost, I’m told tax & fees just like a hotel.. Well I’m sorry, that should have been said to me before I was charged.. The Smith’s may have a bunch of 5 star ratings, but most are family & friends or people that have stayed at the B&B, not the Cabin.. The Smith’s have portrayed themselves to be religious & caring people, They have ripped us off & ruined our Xmas.

So now both of the Smith’s Shelly & Steve have accused us of trying scam them? That doesn’t make sense when they were paid in advance, so how is that? They are so worried about their 5* review they have removed my wife & my review from their FB page, so if they get a bad review they just remove it! Great way to run a business. Now Most recently I got a text message from Shelly Smith last night at 10:19 that says “GAME ON SISTER’S. GAME ON.” This is down right Harrassment now Mrs.Smith And you call yourself a respectfull...

We have now stayed at the B&B twice with a reservation for the cabin this upcoming Xmas! We can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay! The lodge is beautifully decorated and Shelly and Steve are great hostesses! Breakfast was delicious and you have plenty of privacy throughout ur stay or just as much company as you would like! There were plenty of cute places to eat nearby and just a quaint town with friendly people to visit! Shelly and Steve took such wonderful care of us and we can call them friends now!! I never wanted to leave our room due to its comfortness or the B&B bc of the home feeling it gives off the second you walk in the door. If you’re looking for a beautiful stay, with a nice view, and great people close to the PA Grand Canyon you couldn’t find a...

First of all... I cant say enough! We stayed at the cabin and it was fabulous. 6 of us decided to stay from Friday to Sunday and we had the best time ever. The front porch was so relaxing and the place was very cozy. Our hosts made sure everything was in perfect order. From the soaker tub to the hot tub, comfort way key. If we needed anything, the Smith's were a phone call away. Music in the background, having dinner around the table, the closeness of a family setting that is no longer common. This place took you to a whole new level of peaceful, it was a perfect experience. If you love the woods or want a city escape,...
