Golden Inn — Hotel in Richmond

Perfect affordable, clean, and convenient rest stop during a road trip! The good reviews are well deserved. We called ahead to say we would be in late, and we got a very easy contactless check in process with codes for the rooms. And, the owners kindly left ice in the fridge! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and included a mini fridge and microwave, as well as a smart tv with many apps that were already signed into the motel account. This is a rare luxury I don’t even see in most fancier hotels, and I really appreciated and enjoyed it. The hotel is cat friendly, for just $15 a night, which is tricky to find and extremely appreciated. The rooms are older, but well maintained, and I especially liked the character of the tile in the bathroom. The AC worked very well. The location is a bit set off the highway and I felt quite safe with both a deadbolt and chain lock on the door. Bedbugs are always a concern of mine, and the mattress and bedding were clean and free of bedbugs, so if that is a concern if yours, rest assured this place is safe. The only downsides were that the pillows weren’t the most comfy, and the shower was small with a low shower head, but those were minor inconveniences in what was otherwise a very pleasant, safe, and convenient stay. The owner said hello in the morning as we left and was very kind. Thank you so much for the hospitality! I would highly recommend this motel over any of the other chain motels...

AN ADDITION TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: THE GOLDEN INN IS SUCH A DARN, CUTE, CLEAN, INVITING, NOSTALGIC MOTEL AND YES, WE JUST STAYED THERE AGAIN! PEOPLE, YOU MUST CHOOSE THIS QUAINT MOTEL INSTEAD OF A STUFFY CHAIN IF YOU'RE EVER IN NEW PARIS, OHIO. SO MUCH MORE CHARACTER THAN A CHAIN AND THE OWNERS ARE SO ACCOMMODATING. YOU'LL COME BACK TIME AND TIME AGAIN, TOO! THANK YOU, LEE ANN (ESPECIALLY FOR THE ICE BUCKET! :)) The Golden Inn in New Paris, Ohio is one of the sweetest of "Mom & Pop" motels we've found. We travel A LOT and with our pick of chain hotels within five minutes of this place, we ALWAYS pick The Golden Inn because of its professional, personable and always friendly owners, Jeff & LeeAnn along with its spotless rooms, a convenient location just a little off interstate 70 (border of Ohio & Indiana) with the quietest of surroundings and a price you seriously can't beat! Throw in the inviting Apple Harvest gift shop across the street with scrumptious homemade donuts and the Cedar Coffee coffee shop five minutes down the road and one will have everything they'll need for a perfect stopover. A hidden gem! A classic motel from the golden era of travel. I absolutely fell in love with this place the very second I pulled in the driveway. So charming and impeccably maintained. The property has many fruit trees, beautiful flowers and the original vintage charm. The inside of the rooms are a flashback to 1985-for a retro guy like me I loved it! The room was cleaner than any chain hotel I've ever stayed at. It smelled clean and really shows the love and care the wonderful owners put in this facility. Comfortable bed, clean linens, great shower and cold air conditioning. Very quiet area too.

I travel with my dog and they charge a very affordable pet fee. Plenty of places to walk around and admire the grounds, even a few rabbits to chase.

I booked over the phone and Lea Ann was very helpful and courteous. I did the after hours check in and it work out great. She even left some ice in the freezer for me.

I'm soo glad I stayed here instead of a bland chain hotel. Great price too! I'd drive out of my way to spend another night here.
