This is our 3rd year camping here and it is hands down my favorite campground. It is BEAUTIFUL and very welcoming. Huge trees surround the camp, mature trees all throughout the camp, green grass and a beautiful pond. Everything is meticulously kept, grass is always mowed and it is VERY clean. The pond is well stocked and fishing is AMAZING with plenty of space all around the pond to fish. There is a small nature trail through the woods, it isn't huge but it's really pretty and easy to walk with little ones. There is a big playset with slides plus a smaller playset with slides for toddlers or babies, swings, teeter totter, monkey bars and a tree kids like to climb, tether ball, basketball and a gaga ball bit, ping pong, multiple corn hole games, and foosball. They have a HUGE sand area near the pond and it's the kind of sand that when wet actually holds shape. There's a pool too and it is CLEAN. The camp store is super well stocked with just about everything you could possibly need with reasonably priced items, it is well organized and big surprise, it is immaculately clean. They have tons of reasonably priced food in their new restaurant, you can get it at your site or eat it in the store.

We've been here for every major holiday and they always have the best entertainment or activities, they really go all out. The crafts are always different and high quality fun(on holidays/weekends). The fireworks on the 4th of July lasted about 45 minutes or so this year and they let off lots at a time. No matter what activity they are doing(bike decorating, tie dye, candy bar bingo, craft, playing games, etc.) they are ALL family friendly and done with a smile. They also play family friendly movies on a big screen.

You won't have any crazy late night partying, when it is quiet time, the campground is quiet(the rare times someone isn't following that rule the owners are wonderful and put a stop to it) The campground is near the interstate and if you're paying attention you can sometimes hear it but it's really background noise and we don't even hear it. Mostly what you hear is crickets, birds, cicadas and the occasional toad. This is a safe campground and EVERY vehicle that comes in must check in(they'll chase you down if you if you're entering and not supposed to be) this is a WONDERFUL thing for feeling safe and family friendly. The speed is STRICTLY enforced which is also good with so many kids running around.

And the BEST thing about this campground...The owners and staff. Dirk and Danielle are the most welcoming, friendly and amazing camp owners ever. They are genuinely kind and caring and truly want everyone to have a wonderful time. Their daughter Mackenzie couldn't be any more sweet, Teresa and Kevin & Becky and Jeff are all as kind as kind can be. They are all just beyond amazing and wonderful people and make an already amazing place just perfect. They have all become friends pretty much since the 1st time we camped here. They obviously take great pride in their family owned campground and it shows in every aspect and they are continually adding things and improving(making a great place even better). There have been many camping places we've stayed that we hated or left early, some have been fine...but at Richmond Holiday KOA, we never want to leave and can't wait to come back. I don't have a single bad thing to say about about this place. If you come more than once you'll likely see many of the same friendly campers because everybody loves...

Beautiful campsite. Very well maintained and really clean. Pool is open later in the year as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I completely understand they pick a spot for you. This is very inconvenient because you’re not able to make sure your vehicle and RV fit together. We have a class C and a suv. My husband came before me. He informed them we had the suv and the class C. Every spot we saw their vehicle and RV together. When I went to pull up there was no room for our suv and the RV together and I was blocking the road by other RVs. I had to park our suv in the overflow lot and walk to our RV. We almost always have xtra stuff that needs to be put into the RV. Not everyone can store their RVs at their homes. Many have storage units they get theirs from, so with this in mind they def have to have a vehicle to take them to pick up their motorhome and will almost always have stuff that needs to be transferred into the motorhome. It was a Longer walk to the RV where it was located. We also had issues of forgetting stuff and having to walk to our vehicle. Very inconvenient and we also paid the xtra for the better spot. After looking around the campsite I noticed we were placed next to the smaller travel trailers and trucks. The other reason I also gave it a 3 is the checkout time of 11am. We are newbies to camping and we didn’t realize how inconvenient this would be with everything that goes into preparing to leave with a RV. The night before we made sure to have a lot done, however morning of we had to get up even earlier to prepare everything to be out by checkout time. There’s the put up of everything into the right spot so it doesn’t fall or break, putting stuff up into the other vehicle for home since not everything can be left in our motorhome in storage (which wasn’t at our site so that stuff was in the way, the treatment you do for your tanks, the cleaning of your tanks, the unhooking, etc) We have ours at a storage place so we have to make sure some things go back into our SUV. We are lucky to have a class C, however the travel trailers have even more stuff to do. Definitely a lesson learned and we will be more mindful of picking campgrounds that allow us to pick our spots and those that have the checkouts of 1pm! 1pm makes a huge difference on getting a better breakfast in as well. Use to stay in cabins and a checkout of 11am no issue! Just put stuff in vehicle and straighten up. With a rv spot really not much clean up other than maybe a fire pit and a bag of trash. So the 11am checkout def could be for...

My wife and I booked this months ago before Covid hit hard and were we ever glad to finally get away for some down time. Spent 9 nights there and enjoyed it very much.||||We've camped at quite a few campgrounds but I don't think we've ever come across owners and staff more friendly and helpful than those here. Many times they passed by our site or would stop to see how things were going, if we were happy, if we needed anything, or just to chat for a bit. One time we left the grounds for a few hours and either my wife or I must have bumped the knob on our stove and it ended up on the on position. Even though the windows were open the carbon monoxide detector went off and they came and checked to make sure we were not in the camper passed out (or worse). Once they knew we were away they turned off our propane tank and called us to make us aware of the situation.||||We were just looking for some R&R and although the campground is a bit on the small side there are still a variety of things to do. There's a catch and release pond, a nature trail for walking, bikes to rent, and play areas for the children. One evening there was some special music at the pavilion and an ice cream social another day.||||Store had the typical things that go with camping and was well stocked and the laundry area is at the other end. Restrooms/showers were always clean, no issues there.||||Our lot (#31) was pretty level and had 2 sewer hookups. We had cable tv hookup and wifi also, both of which worked fine. Our spot was just a tad narrow but the length was great with the fire ring sitting at the far end. Campground was always clean and the grass cut, one of the best we've seen when it comes to appearance.||||I guess the only thing that may be a negative (not the campgrounds fault) is that it is close to the interstate. It didn't really bother us, it was just the kind of thing you were aware of. I still slept like a baby!||||Don't know if we'll ever be back in the area but if we are we won't hesitate to stay again. Dirk, Danielle, Wayne, Barb, and many others (names I can't remember) made our stay very enjoyable...

Dirk and Danielle and the entire staff at Richmond KOA are awesome! This was our first visit there and we will definitely be back! Our Grandkids had a fantastic time painting rocks, playing bingo, fishing, riding paddleboats and a hayride. We felt very welcomed there and really enjoyed the new patio site and fire pit they had just finished! A very homey and welcoming KOA on the smaller side which is why I think we enjoyed our weekend so much. The kids made friends and played from day light until past dark. Definitely recommend putting this KOA on your list of places to visit. You won't regret it and will definitely plan on a return visit! Thank you for making our outing a great success!

The owners, Dirk (lol) and Danielle, LOVE confrontation and are on a power trip. They came at us so aggressively for violating their 5 mph rule (maybe going 7 mph) that we packed up and left halfway through our stay. After looking at reviews, I realize I'm not alone. Look at the owner's responses to any negative reviews (I've compiled them for you as pics) and it's apparent that the customer is always wrong. Now I know why the campground was half empty on a Saturday in September. It's a sinking ship with simple-minded people running it. I can't wait to see their lame, defensive response to this.

Great size campground with clean facilities and super friendly staff! They have a small pool, but it’s a great size for the volume of campers. They have a cute well maintained mini golf course, peddle bikes and regular bikes to rent, beautiful playground, nice size store with food, laundry is inside the store and very clean, and a nice size pond with some big cat fish and bass. Highly recommend! The highway is next to the campground so you can hear the traffic, but it didn’t really bother us.
