This is our first time here at the Navy Gateway China Lake Inn and first impression was good. The office and facility were fairly easy to find. We got a room and what is called The Summit Building and the room is very nice! Almost like an apartment. It is very spacious and has a living room kitchen and bedroom area also with a patio! Even has a parking garage for one car. We are here for an event to be held in Ridgecrest nearby and stayed here because the rate is very good at about $109 per night. And it very safe and secure.

Best bang for you buck NGIS I’ve stayed in so far. Kitchen and garage are a plus! Full size fridge and a living area separate from bedroom. A/C in the rooms worked like a charm and I’m sure it’s needed during the summer months. The hot water is hot hot! Also there is space out back with a seating are. My room was located right wait the PA system on base so when colors sounded it startled me and the person on the phone with me.

I wasn't expecting to like the VQ as someone else had shared horror stories roaches and mold, but I didn't experience that and was pretty comfortable. Everything was clean and decently maintained. In the deluxe queen in the Panamint circle, there was a kitchen with a pot, plan, electric stove and full refrigerator. I used the pan and the stove to heat water for tea and oatmeal each morning and stored half and half for the morning oatmeal as well as an evening hot chocolate in the fridge. I enjoyed the nearby walking path that looped past the golf course and ran behind base housing to the commissary. It was well lit, and I felt safe taking advantage of the weather for an evening or pre-dawn walk. I would not have felt the same off base. The bedroom TV had issues, but I didn't care too much. The one thing I felt was a little rough, but was so tired at the end of the day it didn't have too damaging an effect on my sleep was the profuse amount of out door safety lighting pouring into the house and room. It was not dark-- but in addition to being exhausted from a three hour time zone difference, I also had a black out mask that I always have with me on travel. The bed itself was fine enough. They had soaps, a sponge, and paper towels, and they left me extra paper cups for the coffee machine (though I didn't use the coffee machine and I boiled water for non coffee beverages, as mentioned). Also, no risk of long waits to get on base in...

Absolutely awesome to stay here. I had to take away a star ONLY due to a MAJOR design flaw in a set of suites. It was my second stay and the front door and backdoor face each other with TRANSLUCENT, NOT OPAQUE glass doors. The back door line of sight is across from the bedroom and you have to pass in front of it from the bathroom. This door also is in direct line of sight from a CHILDS PLAYGROUND.

I purchased covers for the doors during my stay.

The staff sounded indifferent and were unable to change my room as the facility was in no vacancy status.

Other than that. Amazing views of the mountains. Easy walk/quick drive to anything on base. Throughly...

This actually surprise me with the cleanliness and amenities. A few older reviews made me worried about cockroaches and such, but that wasn't the case (note: stayed in January)

There was a living space, 2 TVs, kitchen complete with stove and full size fridge, garage, patio area, and good view of the mountains. Bathroom even had shampoo and soap Incase you didn't have it.

Check in and out was smooth.

Only items to note, carpet and flooring needs replacing. Construction on the water line by the road was going on during the day. If you are driving in later, don't use the Richmond gate entrance, go to the main gate. Waze kept trying to make me use the...
