All of the reviews are great, but my experience was so wonderful that I must layer it on. We had two sites, 15 & 17, pull through sites able to accommodate large rigs. We were on the water front. We had a grassy front, well-maintained. There is a sturdy PVC railing between you and the Little Salmon. In June, the flow was ridiculous. The white noise from the water was hypnotic. You could not hear the road at all. The gravel road was even and level. Plenty of shade trees. I didn't see any photos of people with a campfire, so I asked about it. You can bring a portable fire pit, but you must keep it on the gravel. We put a layer of foil under it to trap any ashes, making clean-up a breeze (leave no trace). Our fire pit was between our two sites and was perfect. If you have a plastic mat, leave it at home. You won't need it and it will not be welcomed on the grass. They provide a picnic table and full hook-ups with sewer. There are no restrooms, so tenting is not advisable. The town is walk-able within 1/4 mile. There are a couple of restaurants, grocery stores, and bars with a pool table. The proprietors are super-friendly. Across the bridge is a meat store with the best jerky ever (beef and elk). I bought some steaks as well, but didn't cook them yet. Bring bikes if you have them, e bikes too. Enter from the south entrance for most rigs with a door on the passenger side. If you need to turn around, there is a church parking lot in town, on the right side big enough to make the turn. The salmon were just starting to run and fishermen were everywhere. This park has a very loyal following, and the owner is loyal right back. Email them to find availability and you will keep coming back. Many guests have returned the same weekend for 15 years. Yes,...

Read moreNice small RV campground close to town, hiking, Heaven’s Gate Lookout, Hell’s Canyon, Salmon River. Campground runs along the Little Salmon River/Creek. Gravel sites, full hookups, good wifi and great cell reception. Grass at sites on the river. No bathrooms, laundry or other facilities. Must be self contained. We were in 40ft class A and it was a tight fit. Better suited for 30-34ft and under vehicles.
Reservations are only by phone and payment is in cash either in advance by check through snail mail if made far enough out, or, by cash through a pay station.
Reservation organization was not great. We booked for 3 nights and were told a riverside site was only available for 2 nights and we’d have to move. No problem. Owner emailed the 2 site numbers after we made the reservation by phone, then, emailed 2 different site numbers before we got there. We parked in the first of these 2 sites when we got there but then saw our name on the original site number he had emailed. We informed him and he said no problem. After the 2nd night we moved to the non-riverside site. Thing is, our original site was never occupied that 3rd night, nor was another riverside site. So why did we have to move?
3 stars because of lack of facilities and...
