Place is alright. Budget friendly for sure. Great location if you want to visit Montezuma's Castle, Well and Tuzigoot (which is what we did). It would also be a great option if you want to visit Sedona and not pay Sedona prices for a hotel.
Pro's: all staff members we encountered were friendly. Room was spacious. Grounds were well kept. Best part of it was the included breakfast (certain items) and all of the low-cost options for snacks to purchase! They had a TON of snacks to choose from. Candy bars, chips, cookies, instant noodles, meat and cheese trays, seltzer, juice, mac and cheese, crackers, rice, individually wrapped cheese (because let's be honest - cheese is life). And all of it reasonably priced. We also loved the private patio with table and chairs. The TV had an HDMI switch with plug-in, so we were able to plug in our Fire Stick when the channels we wanted to watch wouldn't come in (see Con's section). There was an extensive selection of DVD's to choose from for free. Furnishings were cute (tables and lamps, not the armchairs). Ice machine is a nice amenity. Mini fridge in the room was very nice and one of the biggest I've seen.
Con's: while taking a shower, the water may turn ice cold or burning hot in a split second with no warning. The advertised satellite TV did not work. Neither NBC nor ESPN would come in, and we were there on a Sunday and Monday during football season. Window unit style AC would only work on one fan speed. Wood tables in the common area were sticky like there were many layers of grime built up. The biggest turnoff were the signs about wearing a mask and social distancing. The door into the office says you must wear a mask to enter. I didn't notice it until much later the first night while I was getting ice in the courtyard. They still have a plexiglass divider in the office, and this is late 2023. That being said, none of the employees tried to enforce any of that nonsense, or we would have left. If road noise bothers you, you'd definitely want to request a room that doesn't face the main road. Armchairs in the room were uncomfortable and looked as if it's been quite some time since they were cleaned. The place is very dated and could use some improvements.
Would we stay here again? Probably not, but I also wouldn't tell someone NOT...
Read moreMy recent experience at the Beaver Creek Inn in Rimrock, Arizona left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. As an individual with a psychiatric service dog, I expected to be treated with respect and accommodation, but unfortunately, my expectations were not met.
Upon arrival, I encountered blatant discrimination when I was informed that my psychiatric service dog would be treated as a pet and subjected to a pet fee. Despite being willing to provide documentation and explaining the vital role my service dog plays in assisting me during panic attacks, the staff at Beaver Creek Inn refused to acknowledge the distinction between service animals and pets (or ESA animals).
This discriminatory treatment not only violated federal laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but also showcased a lack of understanding and empathy towards individuals with disabilities. It's disheartening to see a business fail to uphold basic principles of inclusivity and respect for all guests.
Furthermore, despite reaching out to management to address the issue, I gave them a reasonable window of 4 business days to respond and received no meaningful reply or effort to rectify the situation. The lack of accountability and follow-up demonstrates a concerning disregard for customer satisfaction and adherence to legal standards.
In light of this experience, I cannot recommend the Beaver Creek Inn, especially individuals with disabilities or service animals. It's imperative that businesses prioritize inclusivity and educate their staff to prevent similar instances of discrimination in the future.
It has been over a year now and I still have not received word from this establishment and see people have had similar experiences after reviewing some recent reviews....
